Hi Guys,
Just want your thoughts on the above poll.
Personally I like to give the Designer of the course free reign as its there baby but if there was a clear cut preferrence I would try to push it one way or the other.
Thank you.

I would rather have 4 different pins with the same speed/firmness.

The problem with having severely different conditions on the same course is that, because there isn't a gradual firmness scale, going from medium to firm is very drastic, and a lot of courses designed with medium settings don't hold up well with firm conditions.
I don't mind differences in green speeds quite as much because the speed setting is a nice sliding scale. You can go from 144 to 160 to 175 to 187 over the course of a weekend. I don't know about going from 101 to 187 in consecutive rounds but gradual changes are pretty good.

If you Could scale it to go
Medium Firm Firmer Firmest that would be ideal but the designer limitations don't allow for this which is a pain in the arse to be fair.

If the designers are testing the courses properly in different conditions then i have no problem with anything they come up with. I would prefer to see 2 rounds with different firmness conditions and green speeds. I just did a 4 pin set up and on the last version i did i put in a few new tees and moved holes to the forward tees. This made for a totally different course and had me scratching my head.

I would like to see the set ups vary a little in terms of the way they play. Seems like we always have round one the easiest and then the course gets progressively harder as the week go on. I think it would be interesting to see a hard round day one and then have an easy round for the final day to allow players to shoot low on day 4.
