This is a lot of fun! The Thursday set up was not as firm as I was expecting so there will be lower numbers out of the gate.
Started birdie, eagle, bogey and scrambled well and took advantage of 8 and 9 to make the turn -4. kept things going well and made it to -5 with a tap in birdie on 12. Got my line wrong on 13 which really feels like a long par 4 and ended up on the wrong tier pin high. Putted off the green (you either make it or roll off from where i was) but made my par. Redeemed myself by sticking my 2nd to 6 feet on 15 and the eagle took me to -9 and a share of the lead. I hand a 5 foot snake for birdie on 16 but couldn't get the read. Putter off the green on 17 again (that will happen around here) this time I couldn't get up and down. A routine par at 18 has me home and hosed for a 64.
At least I'll be able to tell strangers about the time where I had a share of the lead in The Masters (Qualifying). Heady times indeed.
Winds were manageable, more on the front than on the back, I'm expecting it to blow on the weekend. -25 is my prediction for the win.

This one takes a little too much precision with the putter for me to attempt this week. The one armed bandit is gonna take a pass on this one

The winner of this think will be the guy who has the softest hands for sure. Big numbers will be run up if you end up on on too high a tier. Heal well my friend!

65-63 to start. Approach game has got to be on, and more importantly the putter. Great course.

I think I'm failing to get my A card again for the fourth time in a row.
Round 1: -4 Round 2: -3 Round 3: -5 Round 4: +1
Save to say -11 won't be anywhere near good enough to earn my card.
Very tough course that punishes you if you dont get the aproach right. Also flops cost me a few bad rounds due to the greens so fair warning using flops on these greens.
All in all a great course that i hope to do better in at a later date.

Unfortunately you're right Played the event for fun with my CC-buddy, then scouted some CC-A player to see if he we'll finally made to the T5. The top exempt player (as right now at least, and I believe will stay that way) shot -27, which means all other exempt players should at least card -17 to get their cards. Sorry boys; this guy really killed it.

nothing went right for me on my try. i know i can get under par easy on magnolia but it was like i forgot how to swing. I was slicing left, underhitting it, even pulling putts, looks like my fave course has kicked my butt down to ccB after my +4,E,+1,+8. there was a few glimmers of hope in the back 9 but only the back 9 lol. goodluck to those that did well, hopefully i will be back up in A at some point

You are so off base it isn't even funny. First of all, check the results of each tier for each week. You will see that each tier has quite a large turnout. If Jay is in CC-A, he earned it. Trust me. Anybody can have a bad week. I've had more than my bad share of them. How one makes it through the tiers is simple and explained in full below. tgctours.com/Home/RulesPoliciesThe problem is that there is very little difference in skill level between certain tiers. It's looking something like this from what I've observed through my 6 months playing this rat race. Tier Z is the beginners. They're just learning and having problems with basic mechanics. Tiers D and E are those who have gotten past that beginner stage but haven't quite gotten down the basic skills needed to make it up to the upper tiers. Most of these guys end up graduating eventually. Some, sooner than others. It took me almost 6 months to make it to C. Tier C are those who are really starting to get their game together. They can shoot 8 to 10 under on the easy to moderate courses. They struggle with the very hard courses. Whether these guys, like me, make it up to the top Challenge Circuit tiers depends on how fine they get with their approach shots and putting, especially the putting. That's where I am still a little weak which is why I am having problems just hanging onto my C card. That and my nerves get to me real bad at times. They actually do me in more than my skill, which is what frustrates the hell out of me. Tier A and B are those who are this close to making it to Web and even PGA/Euro. They can shoot 13 under on an easy course. They have most of the math down. They know how to loft and putt but their putting may still not be at PGA level. When it finally gets there, that's when these guys make it to Web. I will probably never go beyond C. In fact, I may drop back down to D shortly. I'll make it back up here but it's probably as far as I'm going to go. I'm too old (58) to master video games at my age. So I'm content with where I am. Jay had a bad week. I'm not saying he's Web ready yet, but if he made it up to tier A, he earned it. It wasn't some default prize because nobody showed up. I hope this answers your question and I hope Jay isn't as insulted as I was at your remarks.

Not poking fun Yep I was sure i wrote that Maybe read that next time waggy...
The +13 or whatever he shot for tourney was kinda alarming for someone that posted in the cc-a spoilers i thought Considering like i said people are shooting -30 in cc-c tourneys
There are plenty and i mean plenty of guys on here this that will shoot better on 18 than i do on 9 Im sure they have earned their spot wherever they end up. ..not doubting that And i didnt say "jay" if thats who u r refering to didnt earn his spot.
I was just puzzled on the whole makeup of bouncing around when clearly scores are way off from top to bottom and tier to tier thats all period

What a suckfest!!! I'm so glad that is over, I may not even watch the Masters on Tv. 2-foot putts going 118 feet past the hole....3 or 4 times! Ugh! I'm soooo looking forward to next week. I have nothing but respect for you guys who are at par or under and it is such a beautiful course....too bad I suck.
I need an ez one. And a drink. Ken

I was just puzzled on the whole makeup of bouncing around when clearly scores are way off from top to bottom and tier to tier thats all period lol its ok, its one of those periods when you play that nothing goes right and all the approaches i hit had either just too much or too little and i lost the plot with it. I should have just stopped and walked away and come back and tried the last 2 rounds but i finished it to get it finished and out of the way. Im not web yet, consistency is what is missing and a bit of confidence and ive scored -40 under in a tourny a month ago and better than -30 quite a few times. When it comes to the tours, it depends how they handled the q school, they might have not got on great with those courses an got placed low and then got some practice in and moved up. if you are good enough, you can move up the tours easy enough to B or A and then you will mix with a lot of top scoring players. Anyone on this game can have one of those weeks when you play awesome and beat your best score and get an exemption or win and move up but the other side can happen as well. the courses are set up in such a way that if you play it wrong, you will be punished and thats what happened this week. my flop and pitch shots seemed to want to leave the greens. ive seen some good scores so at least some have a chance this week
