Indeed, that was my mistake. From my point of view I'm very glad it wasn't public, I made an honest mistake and the player was rightly cleared of any wrong doing. These things should never be on public forums unless somebody is verified and proven of cheating, and even then it is unnecessary. I even watched the replay and thought I was right! A closer second look and the benefit of the stats (which confirmed he had missed the green) proved me wrong.
lessangster , sorry I wasted your time, I'll be a lot more careful in future.
Why not publicly. I think there is too much worry about peoples views, if you break the rules or look for an advantage then why shouldn't others know ??
I know now that the correct procedure is what is stated further up topic. But ive stated my own views and ive nothing against knowing who cheats and who doesn't. Im not saying CODE3 cheated. All I did was point out the chip on green. Because you can't just have people flinging about accusations publicly without verification and proof, that would be a recipe for disaster. Why is it a problem to send a private message to the admin and let them deal with it? We are all responsible for self-policing, but we are not also judge, jury and executioner! Imagine how you would feel if somebody publicly accused you of something you hadn't done. I know from personal experience how easy it is to get it wrong. Report it, and let the admin deal with it accordingly.

Innocent until proven guilty.
I played his ghost ball during my rounds but didn't take a great deal of notice of his rounds.

All I did was point out the chip on green. This exact reason is why we prefer to not do it publicly. When it's done in error (and in public) and does not follow our specific instructions on how to report and people don't read far enough to get that information that proves the accused is innocent then it just snowballs into a big mess.

3 times now I have said "my bad or I wont report it like this again" obviously staff are running the site, so they can tell me what I should have done, but how many users have put there opinions in on how it should be handled, so they are voicing an opinion on things that they where not involved with, then they are complaining of the fact I watched the replay several times and reported it here. As to how I would react to being accused of something, if I handt done it I couldn't give a toss and if I did do it by mistake I would apologise, and if I did it to cheat then I would expect to be named and shamed. Apparently we are a community but as a community we have to report people behind there backs and do it as I said before in a "sneaky" manner. So for all the do-gooders who say "what about there feelings" and " we are not judge, jury and executioner" all I did was point it out. I didn't ask for any sanction or advise any punishment, I stated what I saw after watching the replay several times. But I guess black and white doesn't agree with some people, and reporting someone and maintain anonymity must suit there character better than it does mine. In future I wont make a report if anyone infringes the rules as that is my prerogative.

Why not publicly. I think there is too much worry about peoples views, if you break the rules or look for an advantage then why shouldn't others know ?? What if you didn't break any rules but people said you did? Now imagine that you didn't even know there was an issue or accusation. Or what if you genuinely didn't know the rule? That would be pretty crummy for you.

Couldn't care less what others think.

Good afternoon. I just moved into my new home after a week and got all hooked up, internet back on and jumped on the forums, and saw all this about me... I did not chip on the green that was in play. I was on a totally different hole and was over the green being played. The green I was on had no significance to the hole being played, and as such, I was 32yrds from the hole not on that holes particular green. I in no way executed a shot thinking or trying to gain or get an advantage. If so I wish I would at least made the cut..jeez.... lol. I have not ever chipped while being on the green of the hole being played. Also Peter, I use your ghost ball every time too. LOL. I hope everybody had a great Easter!! Its all good; I have no problems with anyone bringing up a issue involving myself or helping me, in these forums

In real life if you get caught cheating everyone will know who did it and what they did in most sports.
But we live in a very PC world these days and people are more worried about false accusations than shaming real cheaters.
I've been gaming for a long time, and maybe I'm in a minority, but when I get accused of cheating I get a chuckle out of it. It never hurts my feelings, and there has never been or will be anything to prove I was cheating because I simply don't cheat. So while some players may "think" a person cheats, the accused really should take it with a grain of salt if they did nothing wrong.
But by keeping a lid on shaming the true cheaters, it's actually an encouragement and incentive for those that do cheat to continue doing so.
We have well known members here that many of you know, that have cheated in this game, while on tour, and you don't know about it and still probably respect them as players.
I am always for public humility when deserved.
Maybe I'm old school
