I wish people that come on this site would not complain ``i only hit -9 -10 -15 this week`` don`t you players realize what sort of message you`r sending out to all these players that have just started out on this site seeing scores like that and people moaning about it, when they struggle to get level par at best of times it won`t be long before they get down and fed up and just chuck it in then were will we be without all the beginners no comp`s no nothing there the one`s that keep the site going without them this site will cease to exist. So please think again before you post

While I don't completely disagree, everyone needs to understand there are levels of performance and expectations. For a guy who's competing at the top of the PGA or Euro boards a score of -9 isn't something that'll get it done, and it'll cause some anger and concern. Conversely, for guys like me making the cut is the goal of the first 2 rounds of each tourney, and then we'll see what happens after that. No matter the level each player needs to establish their own goals and go get em...and not worry about the other guys. In actuality what's made me better over time is knowing some guys are at the level where any score just single digits under par isn't good enough...and that they are doing something I'm not...and I need to figure that out! And it's rewarding as you get better and closer to competing with them. And yes, it's frustrating when you play them and take a beating...but that's life. Not for nothing, but aren't you the guy who was selling his game and leaving? Couldn't let it go eh?

If people didn't complain about their rounds, this forum would get like 10 posts per week and the whole community would suffer.
Its actually very realistic to real-life golf, in my experience at least... everyone I know complains about 95% of their rounds because they think they should be hitting their career rounds every week.

The only time this has annoyed me is in the Stableford - people apologising for scoring a paltry 185 (or more!)and saying how they let their team down and have never played worse, and then I have to put in my 164 (which I was secretly fairly pleased with!) Apart from that I just worry about my own game and my own rounds - most of us are at a level we can be competitive and we know what's a good score and what isn't. Got to understand that everybody's benchmark is different - the idea is to try and raise your own benchmark.

So please think again before you post there is only one reason why people post good scores and then call them poor. Attention seeking. If they say it's poor in comparison to their abilities, that's different but just a straight post like -42 this week. Terrible. Will be lucky to get t25. Is attention seeking

Oh yeah. I'm going to do a shooter on that one. The proverbial "hitting the nail on the head" with that one. Good one (marks 1 point on the chalkboard).

So please think again before you post Frankly, speaking for myself, I utter abhor individuals who are braggarts or complainers. I loath the common folk who seem to make a practice to point out flaws. Friedrich Nietzsche warned of this, and it would do well for these common folk to perhaps read a few lines of his writings. I make it a practice to be a good sport regarding all the competition that takes place on TGC Tours, and I never utter any discord that I may have regarding the golf links that are chosen for the tournaments. I believe that everyone else should practice this decorum as well. It is proper etiquette, as you can see. I am one of the best golfers that ever played on the TGC Tours, and I always play fantastic rounds of golf, and even with all that prestige I have, I still never point out all the many flaws the TGC Tours and all the golf courses have. Grandfather always said, "The squeaky wheel doesn't get oiled, it gets replaced!". Ta-Ta....I'm off to the links now! "Mr. Cooper, shall I bring you a Gentleman Jack on the Rocks before you strike the ball down the fairway?"

Everyone's level and expectations are different. If I shoot -42 and I'm not happy, I will say that. If people are going to quit as a result of that, well that's just pathetic in my opinion. If people think I'm "attention seeking" because I say I'm disappointed to have -42, well then so be it. I certainly don't go out of my way to seek attention from a computer golf game from people I have never met. It's just an honest appraisal of the well I felt I played.

You know what's worse than someone complaining about their scores.. When the grammar police show up in threads.. Yawn..

Played crap for me and really disappointed in myself as know I can do better" And "I scored -42 this week. Can't believe it. Such an easy course and I go and hit -42. Not even going to get T25 with that crap"

It's the passive-aggressive "can you believe I shot -42 and only finished 25th" that bother me.

I do still think it's important for people to understand that everyone has different standards and expectations. Just because someone is over the moon about shooting -40 doesn't mean another person can't be dissapointed with it. I will do my very best to keep the "passive aggressive" tone out of it though
