Just finished this weeks tour. Was -26 after 3 rounds and thought a -12 final round might secure an exemption spot. Didn't quite go to plan lol. Started double bogey, par, bogey to be +3 through 3. Managed to claw it back to -6 for a 32 under total. Another case of what might have been.

With such a rough start in the first round (-1 through nine), I was thinking there is no way im going to be able to compete this week. I finally got my act together somewhat on the back nine and was able to bring er down to -8 the first round. not too great considering the company we're in, but a nice comeback. Rounds 2-4 were a little better as I was somewhat able to minimize my mistakes and continue forward. Still had a few missed opportunities to even further my progression, but overall pleased with my final scores. -8, -11, -11, -10 -40 overall wont win this tourney but im hoping it places me somewhere near the top. Another great tourney to be a part of. Thanks to all of you who put this on! really been fun playing with you all these past three weeks.

The 3rd round was a dud for me..
I went 60-62-69-59.. That third round was a head scratcher.. Was +4 after 7 holes.. I got into that 96-97 % mode and missed a few fairways..

Unfortunately, a family matter allowed me to only complete 2 of the 4 rounds last week. DQ'ed...rightfully so. Any who, tried to get things back on track this week. RD1: 63 (-7) - Meh, missed a lot of putts. Didn't hit any approaches close. Score deserving of how I played. RD2: 61 (-9) - Got things back on track. Winds were up, but not a bad round. RD3: 59 (-11) - Started slow...real slow. -2 on the front. Then, something happened. Holed on a par 5 on the back for an eagle on the way to a -9 back 9. RD4: 57 (-13) - Winds were non existent. Holed out on #2 for an eagle. Solid Sunday round. Total: -40 - A better first round and great things could have happened. I personally don't think it will be enough for an exemption to Web. Time will tell folks. **EDIT** I just saw that CC-A players on exemption next week cannot qualify for The Masters. Hmm. Here's to pulling against getting an exemption? Is there a way around this?

Good scoring! I agree, it does seem perverse that the reward for a great competition performance is that you are unable to even attempt to qualify for an appearance in one of the biggest comes of the year. Seems strange. (Unlikely to be an issue for me, of course, but nevertheless a strange policy.

Sitting on top at the moment but it won't hold. Hopefully will finish in the top 5-10.

Sitting on top at the moment but it won't hold. Hopefully will finish in the top 5-10. Given the 'penalty' for winning an exemption this week (not being eligible to play in the qualifying for The Masters) most people will be very split in their aspirations for this one. Of course, doing well or even winning the event is quite an achievement but there is a good deal of excitement about next week's qualifying. Sadly both are mutually exclusive.

Very pleased with this week's performance. 60 (-10) in the first. A really solid round with 10 birdies, no bogeys. A couple lipped which, with better luck, could have turned one birdie into an eagle and one par into a birdie - alas, not to be. 61 (-9) in the second. A bogey at the third hole set me back but happy enough with the recovery. 62 (-8) in the third. Struggled a little to find the right approaches and so made birdies harder to come by. A very disappointing bogey at the last cost me big time. 59 (-11) in the fourth. A really good spell of five consecutive birdies had me 7 under by the tenth hole. A little tougher to convert the rest and what looked like a final birdie all day long on the 18th was dead centre but just too much pace and went straight over the top.
Overall -38 should see a top 20 finish. Which is good because it means I get to try my luck at Magnolia National next week!!

Just finished up the weekend myself. After some shaky rounds to start with a 63-62, and two bogies in the first 5 holes on the 3rd round, I found something and finished out round 3 with a 57 and 59 for the 4th round for a -39 total. I should at least keep my A tour card this time around as I am up on exemption and probably fall just below exemption to the next round. I blew two easy putts on the final round, but overall was really pleased with my weekend play.

Played in A this week on exemption. My best outing yet while in exemption.
Not sure what it takes to move up permanently, but we shall see.

Thanks, Lorin. I knew a couple putts on that back nine would cost me a chance at a top 5, but I finally put it together in a tournament and it felt good. I believe as it stands, Steve, you are in, but I am not sure. I believe it is top 3 exempt within 10 shots of high exempt player and in some Top x of field and think that gets you just in with maybe one player that can sneak by you. Love the handle, btw. I was in high school in a Detroit suburb when they went on that magical season/World Series run. I am assuming that is why you have that handle .

Seems like it may just be Top 70 and within 10 strokes of Top Exempt player, so you should be all set. Not sure where I read the Top 3 thing before. Could be losing my memory .
