I can't believe this. I just looked at the boards this morning and I'm going to miss the strike line by one stroke. I am so mad at myself. I botched up an easy course because of my damn nerves and am going to get my first strike on the way back down to D Class. With Magnolia next week, that'll be strike two. With the pressure on to now have to make the clear strike line let alone just be safe, no way do I not crack the following week and end up back in D. Very disheartening. I have worked so hard to get to where I am and it's all going to go to hell because I can't keep my nerves in check. May I suggest a hobby or leisure activity of some kind to try and relax you a bit? What do you have in mind? Perhaps nuclear missile disarming? LOL
What do you have in mind? Perhaps nuclear missile disarming? LOLĀ
That might do it! The great thing with this game if there's always next week. Doesn't matter if you're in the PGA or CC-Z, they're not going to kick you out for missing a 6 foot putt. I agree that playing tournament rounds on this site adds a bit of spice to the game, but those little nerves are what makes this fun. I was a bit disappointed with my rounds last week too, bad first round, good second round and then two 'meh' rounds - not good enough for CC-B. Doesn't matter, now I get to join you lot back in CC-C No need at all to feel disgusted with yourself, just enjoy the ride. On to Magnolia! And then Red Rock, etc....

You're right. it's just frustrating when you know you're capable of doing better. But like you said, there is always next week and Magnolia. Oh joy.

I don't get what everyone is worried about on Magnolia.. I haven't played the other 3 days but I managed a -12 a few times on the Thursday course.
Do you have a practice tour set up Wagtunes?

Don't worry, I'm not consistent so I might average 5 under come tee time but I thought the course was a bit easy myself. Did earn myself an exemption into B for this tourney. Shot myself in the foot for getting into the Masters essentially lol

If you're going to shoot -12 you've probably got a chance! I've been getting reasonable scores in practice too (not -12!). The greens on this version are fairly receptive and you can use the slopes to your advantage BUT, there are teeth everywhere too! I've had plenty of birdies, but also a few too many doubles with balls ending up back at my feet, and even one 8 at the supposedly easy 2nd hole! Such a great course.

The good shoot is completely rewarded. The not perfect shoot is punished. And the pin positions are so well thought. The second hole, or the seventh, for me, are great examples of that. The pin for the first round in the 2nd hole is amazing. If you go for it in two you can kiss the sand short - Almost sure bogey, or go long. From the back, anything can happen. What I did with that pin was playing short and waaaaaaaaay out to the right, around 70-80 yards away and with the maximum posible angle to reach that pin. For me, that's the easiest way to get the birdie
