Its a mix of mine and my wife's name CHRis & ASHley, chrashbird. Pronounced the same as Crash......not Trash as some have said 

What made you decide to join TGCT?
To put my skills against other players and not AI computer players......not sure where "The Machine" stands on this? 

What's your favorite thing about TGCT?
The banter between most of you guys, that try not to take it too seriously and the friends I've made and play with because of this site.

Who is your biggest rival in TGCT?
I have to try and beat Brad once a season and Smiffy and I have a healthy rivalry, although he's been beating me for the most part.

What are your first and best memories of golf?
First memories of golf courses was taking our dog up to Whitewebbs Golf Course and walking through the woods, our dog would always sniff out lost golf balls that had been hit out of bounds. First real golf was probably watching the 85 Ryder Cup.
Best memories of just playing on some pitch and putt courses with my friends growing up as we were too crap to play on a proper course.

Who's your favorite current golfer and of all time?
Growing up it was Greg Norman and Seve, these days I like to see Rory doing well.

What's the best shot you've ever seen?
Here's a few starting with Padraig's 5W in The Open:

The approach on the 18th by Tom Watson in 77 which never seems to get much mention of being a clutch shot........too bad they changed the green to fast/firm concrete in 09 


What's your real life handicap?
Don't have one other than my swing   Had a chance to shoot in the 80's at my local course once and chocked on the par 3 18th hitting a massive slice into the pond that is 20-30 yards right of the green, ended up with a 6 to shoot 90 or 91. Haven't played much in the last couple of years.

What clubs are in your bag?
Callaway Driver, Taylor made 3W, 5W and irons, Cleveland wedge and some cheap no name putter I got as a kid from Argos for under a tenner.

What's your favorite course to watch and favorite you have played?
Always enjoy Augusta and whatever course The Open is at.

Haven't played too many proper courses, but my favorites are between Okemo Valley Golf Club in Vermont or Owls Nest Resort in New Hampshire.

What's your favorite course in TGC?
Enjoy Whistling Straits and courses by Scarpacci as he doesn't seem to over think them and have good layouts.

What would you do to improve TGCT?
I would change the main site leaderboard so the leaderboard doesn't display the 1st and 2nd round scores until Friday at Midnight......how would "The Watchers" survive?   Then have the 3rd and 4th round scores displayed at Midnight on Sunday.

How about to stop people whining about course selections is to once a month have 4 or 5 courses in a poll and let the players vote on which one to play?

What would you do to improve TGC?
Get rid of ghost balls in tournaments, easiest solution to this if ghost balls are still in game would be to only have them appear after the player has hit his shot so they all go at the same time then there is no advantage? Alternatively, if you have ghost balls turned on then Scout Cam is disabled?

One other thing is to allow competition creators to select wind speed and direction. Maybe the ability to not be able to see the leaderboard until you've actually played in the tournament rather than being able to before you even start?

Oh and how about having the ability in the GNCD to put divots in the fairways?

Who would be in your fantasy foursome in real life (living or dead and I'm talking golf you dirty old men)?

Who would be in your fantasy foursome for players in TGCT?
Even though they're on my friends list, never played live a the same time with Brad, Ian and Smiffy....one day.

When we do the PGA Tour Vs Euro Tour at the end of the season it would be good to see Brad and Ian Vs Brian Murphy and Tyler Harris......maybe at Harbour Pointe with someone streaming?

What's your best ever round in TGCT?
The original Q School at The Club On Whispering River......lipped my birdie putt on the 12th too 


What's your best ever event in TGCT?
Won last years Omega Dubai Desert Classic at TPC Scarpacci West.

What course would you like to have on the Euro Tour schedule?
Being selfish I'd like to see Kahana GC (Tour Version) which is a tougher version with different conditions than was played early in the TST season and Remembrance Sunday GC 2016 which I'm making with 4 different green speeds now.

Football, Cricket and American Football.

What teams do you support?
As a kid growing up I used to support my local Non-League team Enfield whose stadium was only a few hundred yards from my house. Support England of course, Middlesex in Cricket and Buffalo Bills in American Football.

What's your best sporting memory?
Winning the 2nd Division League Cup for Sellers FC and runners up in the league one year for Mayfield Athletic in the Southern Olympian League while playing with a load of overweight old men.

As a fan it would be Enfield winning the FA Trophy twice Vs Telford. Europe winning the Ryder Cup, especially in 85 and 2012. Watching England beat Scotland and Holland in Euro 96.

What's your worst sporting memory?
England losing on penalties at pretty much every tournament these days.......probably as they turn into these guys when the tournament starts:


Also Buffalo Bills losing 4 straight Superbowls......damn you "Wide Right".

Getting 0 points for Euro Tour last year and losing to PGA Tour overall by 1 point. 

What was the first computer or console you ever owned?
Spectrum 48K with its rubber keys.

Always enjoyed the Football Manager or Championship Manager games growing up. Golf Club must be up there as I'm still playing after a year and a half

Leaderboard on the Commodore 64. Favorite would have to be The Golf Club or PGA Tour Golf on the Amiga.

Probably been to over a hundred grounds of non-league clubs back in the early 90's which weren't fantastic.....although they did seem to have more atmosphere than Gillette Stadium (sorry Pats fans.....cant beat the chanting and songs at a proper football ground). Also been to White Hart Lane, Filbert Street, Selhurst Park, Craven Cottage and the old Wembley. Would have to give it to Wembley by default, although the Mrs does want to visit Old Trafford whenever we get back over to England so that would probably top the list then.

For dinner its a Sunday roast with roast beef or lamb, roast potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings and veg. Spotted Dick for dessert. Home made mac and cheese would be runner up.

What's your favorite holiday/vacation destination?
Going back to visit my family in England. Other than that a Mediterranean cruise we took 8 years ago was my favorite. Went to Barcelona, Rome, Naples, Venice, Dubrovnik, Athens, Izmir and Istanbul.

Dubrovnik.....or Kings Landing when filmed in Game of Thrones.

Who's the most famous person you've ever met?
As a kid I played football against David Beckham and Michael Duberry, but they weren't famous when they were under 10 so it would have been Graham Roberts and Peter Taylor when they both had stints as Player/Manager of Enfield in the early/mid 90's.

What's the best advice you could give to new TGCT members?
Enjoy it.......it's just a video game after all 

Finally, is there anything interesting about yourself that you'd like to share?
Not that I can think of. Program CMM's for my job at the worlds leading Plasma cutting company.

When I bought the game with my game-sharing buddy Massimiliano on PS4 we were advised to take a look here from another friend (Massimo Giudici on TGCT)


What's your favorite thing about TGCT?
Number ONE hands down the community, the players. Then the flawless organization and the amount of stats


Who is your biggest rival in TGCT?
Well, as my friends IRL are struggling in CC right now, I consider my rivals Fabrizio Donadoni (because is the italian that holds the best WGR atm), Steven Garrity, Chris Mather, Jimmy Kuo (because we crawled up the ranks almost together) and finally Thomas Oberholzer (because is the first "pro" I looked up for thanks to his active streaming channel) and whoever holds the 100th and 50th spot in the WGR which is my next "big" goal. Of course beyond that also Ian and Bradley - the final and almost unreachable goal   Absolutely no disrespect for anyone else in the TOP 100 - the list could go on forever really 


What are your first and best memories of golf?
I don't play IRL and golf in TV was not so popular in Italy since 10/8 years ago...so probably Tiger winning at Firestone 5/6 years ago against Harrington if I remember correctly

Current Bubba / Adam Scott; all time Tiger


What's the best shot you've ever seen?
Phil Mickelson at Augusta couple of years ago...a curved shot from behind a tree to reach the green and gave himself a 5footer tops for birdie/eagle and the victory! Unbelievable! Beyond that (which I saw on live TV) I could add countless of incredible Tiger's shots - but unfortunately golf wasn't a big deal back then on italian TV

Two things before anything else: optimization on PC and all that BS on putting (invisible breaks, ball hovering the hole and so on..)

Back when I was working in the videogame industry I met the so-called "father" of the Playstation Ken Kutaragi in Tokyo and, at an E3, casually playing FIFA 15, I met Snoop Dog. Also, not so famous but very (VERY) notable, at another E3 I met Jo Garcia....just do yourself a favor and google the name     I've also crossed paths (not properly met - just a quick "nice to meet you") with Hideo Kojima at my first E3 and on my last -about 3 years ago- with Pamela Horton and Jessica Nigri - don't need to explain right?? 


What's the best advice you could give to new TGCT members?
Be patient, play a lot of different courses, play every day, watch the top players stream and ask as many questions as you need on the forums or on the streams  


Finally, is there anything interesting about yourself that you'd like to share?
I'm a very competitive guy, also very funny and easy going one   I'm not a "party-guy" though, as I much rather prefer my couch and a mixture of books/games/TV shows to a crazy night at the pub. Also I tend to be very (sometimes too much) "passionate" about things/hobbies/... Like right now TGC is one of my main "hobbies" and I spend tons of hours on it, even researching and studying the game; same goes with TV shows and sports (back in the days at least). When I was attending University, for example, I used to stay up almost all night at least 3-4 days every week to watch hockey in live streaming (then sleep on the train)   Nowadays that "passion" was somehow transferred to TV shows as I'm following around 60 of them atm (between spring, autumn and summer schedules)

Casual, online competition.  This completely beats the hell out of winning arcade tournaments against CPU players.

What's your favorite thing about TGCT?
The wide variety of courses we get to play, and the mature, friendly community hosted here.

Who is your biggest rival in TGCT?
Don't really have a rival, but there are a few guys that moved up from CC to Web to Euro right around the same time I did.  Jimmy Kuo, Marc Van Stijn, Ola Ericsson (OK, so mrooola hasn't made it to Euro quite yet, but he played on a sponsor the same time I did (at Spectacle) and then designed Copse, and he'll be back)

What are your first and best memories of golf?
Followed Freddy Couples around at Westchester.  What I remember more than anything were the cardboard periscopes they handed out to the gallery so you could see over some of the hills.  Made my first par hitting 5 from about 80 yards out.  I scudded a PW so bad, I don't think the ball got more than 2 feet off the ground.  I was looking for my ball in the rough behind the green when my partner told me the ball was in the cup.

Who's your favorite current golfer and of all time?
Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.  All the things that were said about Tiger when he first hit the tour must've been the same things our parents said about Jack.  He was so much better than anyone else. 

What's the best shot you've ever seen?
Can't think of any one in particular.  I don't really follow the professional game.  I can't relate to it.  I'm terrible.

What's your real life handicap?
My best round so far is 94 (+22), so let's just say I'm not  going to be on TV - not even on local TV - for my real golfing ability.

What clubs are in your bag?
The driver, 3W, SW and LW my brother handed down to me, and the 3I-PW he made for me.  I think the wedges are Cleveland wedges.  

What's your favorite course to watch and favorite you have played?
Watch: Pebble Beach, only because it's the only course that I recognize from memory.  Ok, maybe I remember 2 or 3 holes from Sawgrass.  And one from PGA West.
Played: Rum Pointe, Ocean City, MD

What's your favorite course in TGC?
The Emerald Course at Eggar Hill (Sunday).  Yes, this one is my own and that's why I like it.  Of the courses created by others, I liked Eugene Links (tastegw), Oceanic (ArcticFury), Horned Viper (BoomBoom), Apache Creek (drivert), The Rookery (reebdoog)

What would you do to improve TGCT?
Separate the Challenge Circuit into two separate tours.  CC A-C and CC D-Z.  Courses suitable for CC-A can be frustrating for CC-D players.  Courses fair for CC-Z players are way too easy for CC-A.   Plus, it's another course that gets some play.  Yes, I realize that means more testing for those rangers and schedulers.  No, I don't have any idea if it's actually doable.

What would you do to improve TGC?
Greater penalty for missing outside the cone.  Slightly smaller cone for fairway woods and long irons.

Who would be in your fantasy foursome in real life (living or dead and I'm talking golf you dirty old men)?
My brother, my daughter (once she is older), and Mike Richter (the former NY Rangers goalie).  

Who would be in your fantasy foursome for players in TGCT?

What's your best sporting memory?
Defeating Tottenville HS in a winner-take-all bowling match at their home center.  Our school and Tottenville HS were both 7-2 coming into the match.  Wagner HS was 8-2.  The winner would vault to a first-place tie and the loser would fall to third place.  Only two schools would qualify for the city playoffs.  Their top bowler asked if we had brought tissues with us to wipe up all the tears after they'd inevitably defeat us.  Ha-ha, suck it, Jeff.

What's your worst sporting memory?
Watching a "teammate" attack an official after being ejected from the last hockey game of senior year. Then his "father" came onto the ice... not to break up the fisticuffs, but to engage with the second official trying to break up the fight. Then my "team" decided that hockey was no longer important as long as we got to beat up the other team. Game ended with us trailing 4-2 with over 5 minutes remaining.

I am a real life avid golfer, 7 HC and I really enjoy the competition and the guys here. Got addicted to the game as a stress relief for my job. CPA

The new courses coming every week.

Who is your biggest rival in TGCT?
Wes Hartman, Luke (oswinner), Leesome and a host of others I came up with in the Web.

What are your first and best memories of golf?
Played golf for the first time the day I graduated from HS. Been a ride since.
Met Arnie at the Kemper Open in Charlotte in the 70's. Also watched the great Slammin Sammie Snead at Charlotte also. Showing my age.

Who's your favorite current golfer and of all time?
Jack Nicklaus, the greatest of all time IMO, Arnie and Lee Trevino.
Currently I like Jordan Speith. He is wise beyond his years.


What's the best shot you've ever seen?
Can't pick one. I would like to say my hole in one, BUT I have never had one. Been inside 2" at least 10 times.

Watch..Augusta. Walking those grounds is golfers heaven.
Enjoy the Pinehurst courses even though have not played #2.

What would you do to improve TGC?
Take away the iron lofting,beyond one bar, and somehow take away the easy chips that people use. Don't like to see people miss the green on purpose to chip instead of putt. Cheapens the game.

What would you do to improve TGCT?
This would not be popular, but form a super tour for the top x number of players, and therefore open it up for more to have a chance to compete at the top.

Who would be in your fantasy foursome in real life (living or dead and I'm talking golf you dirty old men)?
Jack, Jordan S, Arnie and Bobby Jones. I could caddie.

Who would be in your fantasy foursome for players in TGCT?
No preference but would come from my original Web friends

What's your best ever event in TGCT?
In the Web tour last year, finished 2nd but played great all four rounds. Around -40.

I have played baseball, football and basketball and loved them all.

Duke Blue Devils, Carolina Panthers and I pull for all the ACC teams against outside foes.

When I was 13 playing pop warner football, I scored 39 touchdowns and led the US in scoring. My team, YBMC 'Little Orangemen' won the mythical national championship.

Blowing out my knee in my sophomore season in high school football.
