I shot 64-64-66-64 for a -30 that had me in 15th place on the final leaderboard at the end of Sunday.

Well, I left it all out there on the course today here in D Class on a sponsor's exemption. Shot 26 under. Not sure if that's going to be good enough to earn D Card. Top Sponsor Exempt player can't do better than 41 under for that to happen and on this course, I'm not all that hopeful. Let's just say I'm cautiously optimistic.

I had a -10 1st round a bit of a fluke really with a lucky eagle and a long putt pretty sure normal service will soon be resumed

This is my first Tournament after going through the Q-school last week. Not sure what to expect, have finished 2 rounds of 64-60 so far, I was putting lights on my second round.

65-61-61-61 here. There was a 59 or 2 in it for me but just wasn't to be.
I can't believe it took me so long to realize tgctours was a thing. I have played this game more in the last 3 weeks than I had in the previous year.

Nice finish, I didn't fair as well my final 2 rounds, I think I ended up a 64-60-67-65. I need to work on my 9-15ft putts (or work on not leaving 9+ foot putts). Chipping is also weak for me on these fast greens, I sometimes chip it on and it seems to roll out way further then I think, and sometimes I leave it way short.

Well, with one round to be posted, I'm 5 strokes behind the top exempt player and just 1 stroke from an exemption into C class. I don't think I'll make it, but I should finally earn my D card this week.
Slowly but surely we'll get there.

Well, things have suddenly got very exciting. With most of the round 4 scores posted, I am 2 strokes behind the top sponsor exempt player so I'm almost definitely getting my D card.
But wait...
I am also currently 2 strokes inside the exemption line. So there is a very good chance that I'll be getting a sponsor's exemption into C class next week.
Honestly, that kind of scares the crap out of me. I'm not sure how competitive I'm going to be in C Class. Recently I took the Q School just for fun and finished 2 strokes outside of qualifying for C Class. So this is going to be an interesting time for me.
Getting my C card next week, however, is going to be very tough. The top player in D Class right now, who will be getting his exemption with me, is a former A Class player. Not sure how he managed to get knocked down all the way to D but he did.
He also shot 50 under this week. That's a good 24 strokes better than me.
So it is highly doubtful that I'll earn my C card next week going up against him, which might actually be a blessing in disguise. Let's see how competitive I can be in D Class before trying to tackle C.
Anyway, that's where things stand right now.

Not long ago you were talking about not ending up in Z and never get the opportunity to compete for a D card. Not a bash in any way and moving month surely plays it's part, but still. Congratulations wags. You are officially on the move!

Good luck in C Wags. After a -8 in my last round I'm currently in 47th and 10 strokes off the top exemption. By my reckoning that would earn me a promotion back up to D?

These CC guys don't know how easy they have it. LOL

I don't think you need to worry about the winner, he will be automatically promoted to C. Just continue enjoying yourself whichever flight you are in. I am on the PGA, and I average nearly 20 strokes behind the winner each week. My goal is to make the cut knowing a top 10 is probably never going to happen, whereas you have the incentive of promotion(s) in your future as you continue to improve.

I guess everything is relative isn't it. I can actually understand how you feel, like a lot of the PGA members who are good enough for the tour but know they'll never be Tiger in his prime, or Phil, or any of the greats. And to be honest, I'm not sure I'd trade places with you. It's always good to have something to shoot for. Having said that, there is no reason why you can't keep working on your game and improving. As long as you keep at it, there is always hope. Look at me. I was so bad at this game I was in danger of dropping into Z class. Now I'm almost average. I might not get any better, but then again, I might get really good some day. But if I give up, I'll never know. Keep at it. You just might surprise yourself. I know I did.
