Normal service resumed this week with a missed cut, shot 71-65-68-72 the first round I was 5 over after 12 and had 5 birdies on the last 6 holes to get back to level par, that was the highlight of my tournament. I honestly don't know how you guys do it working out how much run your gonna get on the ball. Doyley I played my first round with a stock controller second round with the Elite controller and the shortest sticks, third round with the medium length ones and the last round with the longest sticks. I'm just interested what the API will show up, I think even if I had set the controller up for straight shooting I couldn't have matched the scores some of you lads put up. The games not all about hitting straight it's about knowing where to land the ball on the green and working out the rollout so you leave yourself the best chance with a putt. For all my first twelve holes were poor I will carry on using my stock controller for this game and use my Elite controller for my other games. Good luck to the rest of you lads I'm sitting on the sidelines for the rest of the tournament interested to see who's gonna win.

I agree with you on straight shooting - it's almost useless if you have no clue where to land the ball and how (I'm not referring to you Leslie - no disrespect intended) Also I think most of us here on the top tours can shoot pretty much 100% times straight. To me, if there is no heavy shot-shaping involved, not-shooting straight isn't a concern anymore; and I'm just an average player Anyway I just completed R1 and R2. An acceptable 67 (-4) in R1 followed by a 62 (-9) which doesn't feel that good since I unluckily missed 2-3 totally makable birdies. Will play R3 and R4 maybe later this evening - I think it's safe to assume that @ 13 under I'm gonna make the cut without sweating too much If I can keep my TOP 20ish streak meta alive till my game grows better I will be pleased

I know you can buy a Horri controller for PS4 that can do the same. I don't believe straight shooting is that much of an advantage unless there is no wind and the greens are holding long iron shots. The point is I wouldn't set my controller up that way even if I could if I win I want to win fairly.

I think this needs to b nipped in bud to avoid any room for disgruntled players on tour who use the stock controller..again call me old fashioned, BUT in my view whether your playing on ps4 or xbone everyone should be singing off the same hymn sheet.. I'm not going to comment on what I think PC should b using as have never played golf on one but I'm led to believe there's not much difference in the striking sector on PC compared to consoles, seems it just gives a smoother less jerky performance.. Either way.....enjoy your weekend all!

Either way.....enjoy your weekend all! I have both the PS4 and the PC version and I can confirm that gameplay-wise there's basically no difference (it's mostly a matter of feeling IMHO). Of course the overall experience on PC is smoother and if your system can hold on 1440p@60fps you'll be jerking off at every shot

I personally believe straight shooting can make a big enough difference to a round to be classed as a big advantage, example being when the pressures on and u need to loft up to clear a bunker or hazard and u need to be pretty darn straight, there would be no pressure if u was guarenteed it straight. I duno what the elite does but i no the hori is banned so i guess the elite should be banned too if not already

Thought it would be a bright idea to go straight into this just after getting beat by 4 holes in the ps4 matchplay against miacanes. Shocked myself and played some of the best golf i have in a while. Round 1 -10, fair score really Round 2 -9, played my best golf in this round but suffered with my pace on the putter. Left 3-5 putts in the jaws within 5 inches. Had an eagle on a par 4 and was close to getting birdie on every other hole. To walk away with -9 is robbery. Lol Round 3 -13 played great again Round 4 -12 played some good golf again. Missed an 11ft eagle, 36ft eagle by a cup. Missed 8ft birdie on the last. Big shame as that second round on another day could of been a stupid score. Will fall just short as a result. Good luck all. You going to enter your scores this week? Has you down as a withdrawal for Birkdale. Thanks for the gift of a few extra Euros

all the players I play with bought the consoles and used the ps4 pad that came with the system same ps4 pad they play fifa call of duty madden etc
going out and spending a lot of money on a pad that will make u better at virtual golf game is stupid IMO but after coming from the TW series i know theres a lot of people who looked for a shortcut to make themselves better and trying to compete with them and there horis became tiresome.

Played all 4 rounds together but only signed the first 2 for some reason. Then signed my last 2 round yesterday but put them in wrong. I put -7,-3 instead of -6,-4. Lol same total but the rules are there. My own fault for being lazy and not checking off the ps4 lol

I bought my Elite controller to play Elite Dangerous nothing else, it gives me the ability to change my button layout. If I'm going to beat any of you guys its gonna be without cheating.

3 rounds down, pretty happy, couple of silly errors but overall pleased, could be in contention going into round 4 so im gna actually wait this one out and see how many back I am.. Rd 1- 61(-10) Rd 2- 58(-13) Rd 3- 59(-12) Rd 4- ?? Wow, dont know how you could stop while playing that well. Great shooting hope it doesnt cost you stopping. Well you was right. I shouldnt have stopped playing lol. Tgc decided that the final round wasnt going to give me anything. Made no bogeys but mustve had at least 5 putts roll over or lip just out of the hole, unbelievable. Then i missed a 10 ft breaker on 18 to finish level with you, so i finished with an awful 63 (-8) total -43 absolutely shocking! Hero to zero!!

Still impressive scoring though Jules, I could have played alongside your ghost in my first three rounds but I thought it would have put too much pressure on me so I played alone.
