So to be realistic we have to have players enter 18 individual hole scores correctly instead of 1 total score (that is displayed on the screen if viewing scorecard) Not sure that will go over well! Haha. Of course you know I'm not suggesting that. I kind of like the idea of being able to edit it, but not sure coding problems etc. I really just brought this up bc I didn't know if the harshness of the rule was due to the fact that it was assumed to work that way IRL. I kind of like the idea of a penalty equal to the stroke differntial you submit. You submit 63 and had 64. 1 stroke. You submit 54 and had 62. 8 strokes.

it was mainly borne out of the idea that if you were scared to make a mistake, less would be made. Less mistakes means less emails to admin asking for corrections. That was pre-API. Getting the API helped but we still feel it is best to keep it strict as it really helps keep the integrity of the leaderboards and the strain on admin emails to a minimum.

Interesting conversation. I fell victim to putting in the wrong scores once. I entered my R1 for R2 and visa versa. Not sure why or how. I saw my total on the leaderboard for those rounds and thought all was well. Even if I could edit I don't think I'd have gone back and thought something was wrong. I wouldn't be opposed to allowing edits up to cut day. If someone made an honest mistake it's a shame to get a DQ. My only worry would be people playing 'games' with the leaderboard. Post high scores and then edit them last minute - "Surprise!" Moe would probably make a new category like Edit-lurker-watcher or something. Seems a little far fetched, but it wouldn't surprise me if some did that. I also wouldn't be opposed to changing nothing with the system. As Doyley said, take your time and enter them correctly. It doesn't mimic real life. But I like that it adds a bit of realism to the tour. Same here Yates. Definitely forced myself to double check my score before submitting since that happened. The system is fine and nothing needs to be changed in my humble opinion

This is how i solve this mad situation. I play a round. Look at my scorecard. Let's say I scored 65. -7. So from looking at my scorecard I have those two pieces of the puzzle.
Here is the tricky part. What I do next us to not continue and tee off my next round. I go to the site. Press submit score and enter the same number that was presented on my scorecard. I check so that the numbers match. Then I enter my name and press submit.
Now what I have done here is to make sure I can't submit the wrong round or score. Toughie I know, but it is doable.
Seriously....

Been a member since day 1...never input a wrong score. And my nerves aren't shot while I input my scores (thank you "you shot -xx" line). Much ado about nothing

yaters is the only person I know who has submitted the wrong score. That says it all. End of conversation. (Oh I forgot he's in my stableford team and I have to be nice to him now!)

To add my two cents (Canadian), I like letting the API do it, not because I fear entering the wrong score but rather the wrong name. I have large fingers and use my phone to post scores. My surname is Baker but 9 times out of 10 I enter it as Baler. I have yet to incorrectly click "SUBMIT" but that day is coming I am sure. And there is no red verification text for your name.

I have done it once, ie entered a round 4 score at round 3 then the round 3 score at round 4, and was subsequently DQ'ed, my @!$#-up, don't have an issue with the DQ or current process.

When it happened I got a nice note from Doyley and wrote back telling him I was sorry, etc. He said not to worry, happens every week. Quit yapping and play your rounds for stableford. Are you our CC player? I wasn't sure if you got demoted yet.

Oh yeah, what ever happened to that guy? He hasn't played in a tournament since. I don't know. Not really my concern. My issue is that they weren't DQed. You are DQed for signing a scorecard lower than what API shows. It was pretty well shown, IMO, that these two did not finish round four in game, so I find it a puzzling contradiction that they are still on the leaderboards and not at the bottom among the WD, DNPs, and DQs. That is more to my point. I think that using the API catches these types of things where people try to abuse the system for one reason or another. I would think the staff has a true/false for API matching the scorecards sent by the player, but I just wonder why someone is allowed to stay on a leaderboard when it shows a false. I'd love to know if anyone has seen the guy who finished 3rd since, it's a pity they didn't get DQ'd as I missed out on an exemption over it in the end
