Can someone explain to me how the putting works? Does it really matter if the yellow putting marker is pushed out or in? I understand left and right for the breaks but dies it matter if it's forward or back? A good tutorial on its function would help! Thanks guys. Btw, bought gm yesterday so I'm new.

That yellow marker helps big time. You will get tonnes of advice,but....its what suits you. Do a few courses with different speeds. Is no magic formula sadly Basically...practice.

Basically what you want is for the putting marker to be how far you need to hit it accounting for elevation changes to the hole. For downhill putts move the marker closer to you. For uphill putts, move the marker past the hole. If you get the marker in the right position, you have more variance available to you for the backswing to get the power correct.
Also, go the Driving Range section of the forums to get tips and advice on how to play TGC.

Does anyone know any putting greens that have been designed for putting practice. There's a Putting Practice facility (search Putting Practice) which consist of 18 consecutive putts on average speed greens (167 or so if I remember correctly). The thing is there's very little slope changes so in my opinion, despite being a good effort, is not totally worth it. Best way to practice putting is still doing couple of different courses every day

Does anyone know any putting greens that have been designed for putting practice. I suggest going to creator yourself and creating a perfectly flat green, which can be done using the terrain tool. Then change the green speeds and firmness and play on the green within the creator. Taking note of the green speed and how each ball reacts. Make sure you hit a putt first before taking note in the green speed as it doesn't reset until you do so.
