I'm in CC-B right now and finish once in awhile in around 30th, but normally 50th and maybe up to even 70th. Do have to to request going down to CC-C or does it happen automatically ?

After reading this I noticed "Currently, we are only considering requests for demotion from players that have missed 3 consecutive cuts. However, missing 3 consecutive cuts does not guarantee your request for demotion will be granted." Now since we don't have cuts any longer shouldn't this be taken out and an alternative be setup ?

That is for Euro/PGA/Web Players. Look above that - Demotions on the Challenge Circuit will utilize a three strike system. If you finish outside the Top 70 in your flight for an event or are DQ'd, you will be assessed a strike.
After three strikes, you will be demoted to the flight below and your strike count will be reset to zero.
Any time you finish in the Top 30 in an event on your flight, your strike count is reset to zero.

Considering what I've seen so far theres only about 100 people playing in each circuit, wheras theres actually almost 500 available to play, so is outside the top 70 even valid with that amount of players ? I guess what the real question comes down to is do I actually have a chance to win where I am right now ? Probably not, so is that a good enough reason to be moved down into the next lower circuit ?

This is a long running debate. The overall concept in my opinion is to constantly strive to move up or improve. Dropping down has an effect on other players in the very same position you currently sit but one tour lower. Obviously you can choose how you play this game but the rules are in place to discourage voluntary demotion bcs it undermines the whole concept IMO. Over 3,000 members to consider beyond yourself and no way everyone can be a winner. Just my take

I can understand constantly trying to improve, but most of us will reach a point and thats as good as we'll get. At the same time you sort of get stuck in a no man's land where you'll always be with no chance of winning. I thought winning was the ultimate goal. In order to be in the top ten in say the CC-B tour, you pretty much have to shoot at least -10 below or better to be in the top 50. To anyone who is trying to improve yet comes in at 50th or worse your pretty much stuck. In order to even have a chance of getting in the top 50 I'd probably have to drop down two tiers. But this is what I've gotten for an answer from the powers at be. Its even hard to believe at this point I was playing in the PGA tour at one point. I guess I haven't improved as much as quite a few others. So I'll keep the monotonous job of being a middle runner until I get a couple more demotion hits.
