Congrats wagtunes, looks like it's an official top 10 this week. Good luck in D.

Good to see your game coming along @wagtunes . It's been quite the journey but I'm sure the progression feels good. It does. Some courses still give me fits, like the one coming up this week, but I'm getting there and I do have more confidence than I did. Lowering the settings and improving performance has helped a lot too. I'm eventually going to have to spring for a better video card because this one just doesn't cut it. That's been a good part of my problem. Anyway, I'm getting my swing back so I think I'll tackle this course with my exemption this week and see how I do. Right now I'm shooting around par and I know that's not good enough but maybe with a little more practice I can pick it up a bit. We'll see.

No, the exemption means that you are given the chance to play that next week in the upper flight, but your card is the same you had (in your case, the next week you will be a CC-E player "invited" to play in CC-D). If you do well, meeting those criteria, you are given a CC-D card. Otherwise, you simply stay in your flight (CC-E) Okay, got it...but...once I get to Class D, if I get 3 strikes, I still can go back down to Class E. Correct? Correct

Well, I got the email from TGC Tours that I earned an exemption and I now understand the rules.
Logically going through the requirements to stay in D Class, this is what it boils down to.
I finished T7 which means 6 players were better than me. That means finishing in the top 3 of all exempt players is going to be very difficult. So that's probably not going to happen. So I have to hope to finish within 10 strokes of the bottom exempt player. As I was only 4 strokes from actually winning this thing (my 4 bogies for the tournament) that is probably doable but will require me to have the same kind of week I just had on a course that I can just about break par on. And then of course there's the whole top 70 requirement and who knows if any of us will even do that.
More likely than not, I will be back in Class E next week, which is fine with me. It's probably where I belong anyway. I'll go into the tournament, try to do my best and see what happens. But I'm not going in with any expectations. I started this whole thing in D and quickly got 3 strikes to end up in E. So this will be a test to see how much I've really improved. I seem to have worked out the problems with my controller by actually lowering all the game settings. The game looks like crap now but man does it play smoothly. My swing is better than it's ever been and I think it'll help me a lot. In the meantime, I'm considering getting a new video card to improve the look of the game as well by being able to go back to higher settings.
So wish me luck this week guys. I'm gonna need it.

Like I said, see you guys next week back in E Class where I belong.

Wags, don't give up before you start. Like you, I had my best week ever. -25 under. While I'm happy to stay in E, I'm sure I'd make the top 70 each week, in D, but not be as competitive in that group. If you're really feeling a lack of confidence there, ask if you can just stay in E. Although... This may push you to new heights... Ya never know, right? I say go all in... If you're sent back to E, than the right thing has happened. Good luck.

I think I can make top 70 in D each week if I really bust my ass on every hole, but staying there is going to be very hard whereas in E I think that ship has sailed and I don't have to worry about dropping to Z anymore. Once I get my new graphics card and improve game performance, I think I'll start doing a little better. That, and a lot of practice.

I really think that not allowing myself to get ruffled by a bad hole, made all the difference for me this week. Amazing how caught up in this game we can get. I'm happy that I finished 13th this week, so I don't go up a level. I'd like to string a few top 25 finishes together before moving, so I understand what you're feeling. I'm pretty sure I've seen guys throw their exemption week to get back down a level. I don't know that I'd go that far, but I get it. Sometimes we do need a push to break through, so it could work for you.

Best finish so far, tied for 21st with a -19. Few more good rounds will help the game a bit. TGC is far better than any other online golf, I like it !!
