Tour Complete:
Initial thoughts? "Well, to say I couldn't get anything going out there would be an understatement. It was a grind all the way through. I am thoroughly disappointed with my last two rounds of E-E, especially round 6. I was leaving myself lots of putts from the wrong sides of the hole, lots of downhill sliders and sidehill gougers. The flatstick is the great equalizer, but this tournament it did me more harm than good."
What went wrong on Crawford Mines? "I've gone low on Crawford a number of times. I just couldn't get my bearings on the greens. I've never seen so many putts lip edges. Even in the low winds, I just wasn't finding the right side of the hole."
How do you feel about your positioning? "It's still early in the event, and a number of great players haven't finished up yet. At -13, I'm certainly going to be close to the total cut line for the top 250. I have a feeling it won't be good enough, but I'm holding out hope. If I end up on the Web.com tour, that's ok, too."
Closing remarks? TGCT crew really does a remarkable job. I'm thankful to know these guys. I'm looking forward to seeing all that's yet to come.

At least you have a very promising architecture firm that will no doubt host many of the PGA tour stops. The way I'm playing I might be joining you on the Web.

What was the highlight of your round? Just playing my first "competitive" round of golf in 18 months. It was extremely enjoyable to feel some pressure to score as opposed to just knocking it around solo or with friends. On the course I had lots of near misses but the 29 foot twisting putt I sank for birdie on the par 5 17th hole was exhilarating.
What was the low-light of your round? I had two 3-putt bogies that spoiled a very conservatively played round. Don't you hate thinking birdie and walk away with a red number?
What did you think of the course? Plenty challenging for a rookie like me. I was dealt 11-18mph winds the entire round and held my breath on more than a few tee shots hoping to stay in the short stuff. Thank goodness water wasn't an issue.
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? Finished up with a 69 (-3). My goal for Q-School is to finish under par overall so I will need to find more birdies on the other "easier" courses to provide padding for the tougher courses. Then again I really don't know what to expect as I have only played the coming courses once each and quite truly ANYTHING could happen out there with the better odds being something really ugly!
It's all fun and I applaud the TGC crew for hosting an amazing league for The Golf Club, the short ride thus far has been wonderful!

We need an ambulance over at Crawford Mines. There's a man choking on every hole of the course.
25 under on the first 3 rounds. 13 under on the last 3.
I'm like spring. In like a lion, out like a lamb.

*Initial comments unprovoked* "I can't say the putter let me down, I let the putter down"
"Does your putter have a name?" "Yes, Alice. Cause after 24 years I still don't know who she is"
"This has to be frustrating, yes?" "Ha you aren't kidding. At least if this were poker, being on tilt may still draw some attention and ratings. But for me, I am too deep for Shale workers to rescue me."
"So what do you do know with four rounds remaining?" "There is no pressure. Just enjoy yourself and do the best you can. And try to 2 putt instead of 3 putt"
"Any goals the remainder of the way?" "No double snowmen and don't finish last."

Somewhere in a dark corner at the 19th the ever so sweet course reporter slips into a booth next to a wannabe golfer - her charming smile lifting the mood, even if just for a moment
3 Rounds done, how have you been going?pfft, lemme buy you a beer. Bartender - 2 more please! I guess not to well?hmmm, uh-huh I've been secretly following your progress, 74 at Mt Yeti Royal, followed by a 76 and then a whopping 83 at Copper Creek - at the current trend you'll be lucky to break a 100 by the time you get to Crawford MinesAstute observation, another beer? Only if you answer my questions with more than a few syllablesOK Bartender slams down 2 cold ones on the table *cough* mumbles something about the tab getting too highSo, tell me your storyWell, I'm not the straightest of shooters - golfing wise - was quietly hoping to slip in at the back end of the Web.com field. Was happy with my start at Mt Yeti - personal best score by a few shots and went straight on to Whispering River, ready to rock that place. My round fizzled out into a whisper - just played badly, missing a lot of fairways, leaving very little chance for birdies and i guess a 76 was a good score considering. Then came Copper Hell. wow. Don't think I ever broke 80 in 7 practice rounds. Did 2 more praccy rounds, 1st one 80 lots and then the 2nd one, bang! Scored -1! Threw my putter into the air, arms spread wide...Fired up the Q-school page, ran to the 1st tee, dumped my tee shot in the nearest bunker, hobbled onto the green, aaaaand...no putter in the bag. Think I left it on the 18th somewhere, dunno. Ya, the round went completely south from there. 4 putt from 6 feet, 3 putt from 12, on and on. The courses - your thoughts on them? They're fine. Most of them I wouldn't play for fun but I reckon they serve their purpose. I guess the idea is to separate the pro's from the wannabes and keep the riff-raff out. What type of player are you and where do you see yourself going in the next 3 rounds?Easy, riff-raff for sure. Hoping to graduate to wannabe and at 18 over now I prolly left myself with too much to do. Not gonna give up fighting though. Another beer?

*Chris comes in wearing a sh!t eating grin and plops down behind the mic*
Well, you seem pleased with yourself. "I buckled down last night and put together the best round of golf I've ever played, so yes, I'm pleased.
Do tell. "As I mentioned in my last appearance here in the tent, I thought my game was good enough to sneak on to one of the pro tours. I don't play enough to be a top competitor, hell, I probably don't have the natural skills to be a top competitor even if I had the time, but I'm a good enough player to put up nice looking numbers, just not super consistently. I've proven that in Q School for sure. A solid, if not jaw dropping 66 on Yeti in pretty stiff winds got me off to a good start, but I followed that up with career worst rounds at Whispering and Copper. Whispering REALLY hurt..."
Folks are putting up some low numbers there. "Exactly. If you're not dropping birdies on that course you are probably losing ground. So after 3 rounds I sat at -7. Not at all where I thought I'd be going into the tough back half of Q School."
Lots of ground to make up on courses that aren't very forgiving. "Spot on again. But then came my round at Son Gual last night. I know some of the top players can put together beautiful rounds on that course, but we average guys don't tend to go low there. It is a great track, but very demanding. Somehow, the stars aligned and I put it all together for one gem of a round. I was fortunate enough to deal with only mild winds. I think the highest I saw was gust of 7mph, but for the most part it sat around 3-4mph the whole round. Getting a blessing from the golf gods in the wind department is one thing, taking advantage is another. But boy did I take advantage. A bogey-free round of -9 golf puts me at -16 under for Q School with 2 rounds to go. Just when I thought all hope was lost, I put myself right back in the running for a tour card. I control my own fate, which is all anyone can ever ask."
Hence the grin? "Yes indeed. I'm on cloud nine today. I know Kodiak is going to bring me back down to Earth tonight, but for now, drinks are on me gang. Lets hit the bar!"

Round 4 Son Gual 66
What was the highlight of your round/tournament? My lag putting was a life saver What was the low-light of your round/tournament? Back to back bogies on 2 and 3 What did you think of the course? A little perplexing how three foot drops behind pins with max speed and firmness settings can be put in a tournament. The GNCD work is superb though. How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? 10th on PC (66). I was just trying to beat par.

MisterNic sits down at the table having signed a 69 for the first round.
Before we get started, I need to apologize to the lady behind the green on 2. I clearly did not see her when I threw my putter. It was neither her fault or the putters for my performance early on. Does anyone know if she is alright?
What did happen to start your round? It was not the normal game we are used to seeing.
Me neither Bob, not sure what happened. As most people know you got to jump on this course (Mount Yeti) and then hang on until the last few holes to score well. Generally I was looking for -2 under after 3 holes. Instead I butchered it and was +2 after that first trio. I have told you before my goal was no doubles and no 3 putts. That motto lasted 1 hole with the 5 at the 2nd hole.
What turned it around for you out there? -3 is a respectable score.
The approach on 9 was perfect. It rolled up close and that got me back to +1 at the turn. I had set a new goal of E at the turn after the disasterous start, and that approach got me half way there. Really felt good on the back nine after that, and could have made one or two more coming in to really boost up my score. I thought -4 would be a good opening round, and despite the start I almost got there.
Anything going to change in preperation for Round 2?
I had spent some time with my family right before teeing off and it clearly changed my focus. They will not be involved in my pre-round ritual at Whispering River. Fortunately I salvaged my 1st round so I dont have to change the gameplan much. Avoid the doubles and no 3 putts and I should be ok. Seriously though, let me know when you find out if that lady is ok.

What was the highlight of your round?
Managed to knock in a 120 yarder on the 9th to secure an Eagle. I was pleased with my golf between Holes 9 and 16 where I totalled -6
What was the low-light of your round?
Bogied the First and Bogies the Last. My only 2 bogeys
How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? Chipped in with my 3rd consecutive -5 to take me to -15 overall. If I can maintain the consistancy then it should be enough to comfortably qualify. This is the most pleasing round so far as it has been the most difficult.

What was the highlight of your round/tournament? Knocked it to three feet on 17 to give me confidence going into the crazy 18th What was the low-light of your round/tournament? The five sloppy bogies. What did you think of the course? Ever heard the lyric "considerately killing me"? How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat? Finished 10th (-2). Just tried to beat par again.
