I got some really bad news tonight, the dreaded late night phone call. I happened to be in the middle of my tournament rounds for the PGA event. I need to leave town in a few hours but I can't sleep and I'm not thinking real straight right now. So I came here because...I don't know...it sounds cheesy as hell but this place feels like a family to me. I logged on and had a number of personal messages congratulating me on this weeks tournament. Then I watched the video of Eli getting his iPad and just broke down into tears. It feels stupid but I'm just really touched by the community here.
So I felt like I should explain why I won't be playing this week and will be gone for awhile. I'll be way out of practice and probably take a big dump on my chance to move up to the PGA, but I'll give it my best shot.
Good luck everyone and see you later. Hit em long and straight.

Hi Yaters ,
I'm sure I speak for most when I say we will all be thinking of you and hopefully the call doesn't turn out to be as serious as first assumed.
Secondly (incoming cheese) the fact that you came on to this to let us know rocked me a little to be honest that you feel that letting us bunch of frankly randomers from each corner of the globe speaks volumes.
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers and I'm sure I'm not alone!
Speak soon Yaters

Hey Yaters
Firstly congrats on the incredible shooting last week and the wire-to-wire dominance.
Hopefully everything is OK on your side, I have to say you have been a rival of mine on Xbox ever since I got this game months ago and it's awful to hear that you're going through tough times, if there's anything I can do please shout. Hope to see you back soon.

Thank you everyone - really appreciate it. Quick update. I didn't really explain what was going on mostly because I had no details. I got a call late Friday night that my best friend had an accident. He fell off his roof trying to do Christmas lights and hit his head on the driveway. His wife told me things were not good and if I wanted to say goodbye to Greg I needed to get here ASAP. Really shook me up. He was in a coma and brain function was poor and the when I arrived nothing had improved. But he made a big turn Sunday afternoon and the swelling had gone down significantly. This morning I was in the room and he opened his eyes. Things now look much better. They induced him back into a coma to keep the swelling down. They won't know the extent of the damage yet. There will be a long long recovery but the doctor was optimistic for the first time today. The are going to remove part of his skull to address the swelling, so that's pretty gruesome. But for the first time the doctor seemed very optimistic. He's not completely out of the danger area yet but everything is trending positive very quickly (like by the hour updates and all getting better). Again, really appreciate the comments and messages. I'm heading back home tomorrow late. I probably will just sit out this week (so maybe @dh-nufc has a chance to make a cut ) and I guess I'll miss my PGA chance, but not too concerned about that. I'm exhausted and still a little shaken mentally, but at least I can come home not saying goodbye and enjoy the holidays with my family.

Hey, I'm glad everything is improving but it sounds like you and Greg's family and other friends have been through hell. Fingers crossed recovery continues quickly and he's back to normal sooner rather than later.
You can still use your PGA chance next week I think mate not that TGCT will be important to you at the moment(Apart from the community maybe).
Take care.

Well I don't know you, but id like to just say that my thoughts are with you, your friend and his family. Sounds like a horrible accident. I hope the recovery rate continue to be steady. Take care man and I hope to see you back soon.
