Shot -10 and -12 for the first two rounds, if I remember correctly. Should be on the first page for the weekend.

Curse of the 3rd round strikes again for me. Managed to shoot -10 in practice then could only muster a terrible -6 in the real round.

Hope everyone is enjoying the course this week. I know a lot of people are instantly put off by firm greens (The Sunday pin version has an in game rating of 5.9! - which seems very harsh to me) but I spent a lot of time designing this course to try to make sure that virtually every pin across the 4 days is accessible with a good shot. I also kept the course length down to under 7000 yards so that you're not always hitting long irons into these firm greens. Don't look at those ratings, they're garbage. Generally the easier the course, with some eye candy the higher the rating (with some of the exceptional courses getting high ratings regardless). I thought this course was excellent and a great tour venue. The perfect challenge, very fair, well thought out shots were rewarded. It's a links course it's supposed to be firm, but sadly once the firmness goes past a certain point you can expect the rating to go down at least 1 and even 2 points sometimes. On a disappointing note, I may miss my first cut of the season (second of my time on tour) due to my own poor play. Was -11 for rounds 1 and 2 and then -18 for the weekend, so if I do make the cut I'll move up a few spots. Once again great course, don't take those ratings personally, as I think for the most part people have enjoyed the challenge this week.

I put in a bid for the mr consistent award this week, with rounds of 70, 65, 61, and capped it all off with a nice even 71. Not good enough to make the weekend rounds count, but I must say I enjoyed the course for the most part, except the par 3 18th. However, I do think you accomplished your goal of a tough finishing hole. I had a bogie on it at least twice that I can remember. See y'all next week for more entertaining hacking -7 might keep you around for the weekend wisey. I doubt it, but there's more of a chance of that score getting by this week than most others.

Have played one practice round so far. Getting tired of the concrete greens every week. I play real golf and have a lot of trouble 'lofting up a 3 or 4 iron' to hit a 145-175 yd shot. I know that is required and the best players probably do but it just doesn't seem right. Not as enjoyable to me. I would rather have undulating greens with yellow and red instead. Just my opinion. Call me a moaner or whiner or whatever you call it. A PW that hits on the green and rolls 10-18 yds off the green is too much.
Rant over. Good luck to all who haven't put a peg in the ground yet! By the way, how are the winds?

By the way, how are the winds? The winds kick up to insane speeds around the 7th through 13th on some of the rounds, like 16-22mph, manageable otherwise.

I was glad the high winds came back. I enjoyed that challenge and played pretty good tee to green but again my putting performance was awful.

By the way, how are the winds? By my reckoning we've had firm greens 3 weeks out of 9 so far, so it's hardly every week. Give me this over -60 every week anyway. Seems a lot of the PGA guys agree judging from the mini invasion we've had these last few weeks

Thanks Hershal, firm greens does seem to be a sure fire way to lower the ratings people give your course. I wouldn't want every course to have firm greens but some of my favourite courses on the game have them and I like how it offers a different type of challenge. Looking at the scores I think you may make the weekend with that -11, I'm sitting at -12 thru 2 rounds myself.

Seems a lot of the PGA guys agree judging from the mini invasion we've had these last few weeks I don't mind the firm and fast conditions as long as you have plenty of room on the green. I enjoyed the challenge and would welcome these conditions again.
