At the end of the day I play TGC as I enjoy it and the tour adds a nice bit of competition. I've set myself a few targets for the season and I have a few unofficial rivals that I try to beat each week but, unless I decide to play no other video game than The Golf Club, I'm not going to be challenging the top of the world rankings.
Its no different to when I used to play COD a few years back. I was pretty decent at it but the top players had logged thousands and thousands of hours on the game and I like to play a variety of video games rather than just dedicate myself to one.

After a solid opening round of 62 (-10) I had an almost perfect Rd2: 58 (-14) -24 was top of the PS4-leaderboard when I quit. We'll see what it'll be worth at the end of the week. I'm done with my rounds for this week, and I'm not really sure if I should be happy or sad about the outcome: Rd1: 62 (-10) Rd2: 58 (-14) Rd3: 64 (-8) Rd4: 62 (-10) Total: -42As said before, Rd1 was pretty okay and Rd2 close to (personal) perfection. Rd3 was disappointing in some way. I didn't really make any mistakes, but I just couldn't score where I wanted to. A few inches short on approach shots resulting in a bunker shot instead of being dead at the pin, hit the flagstick twice and the ball didn't want to find its way into the hole, and more of those things. And my putter was cold as ice. Rd4 started great: Birdie on #1 and #2. I really thought I could compete with anyone in this tournament at that point. After Hole #8 I was at -1, so I don't want to comment on what happened in between. I talked to my mental coach on the 9th tee box and told him I'm about to quit, but he persuaded me to continue... "YOU CAN DO IT", he said! And he was right... started a decent race to catch up and finished the round at -10. Once again, I couldn't compete with Ian over four rounds. Was a few (3?) shots behind him on the final leaderboard for PS4 as 2nd. It was funny to see that the 3rd on the leaderboard was actually 5 strokes (!!!) behind me at this point. Seems like it wasn't really a week for the Playstation guys! Anyway... I'm hoping for another Top10-finish. If that's how it turns out, I think I should be happy about my performance.

Hugely disappointed. Round three started with one of those, WTF was that shot and didn't get any better from there. Everything was off and I probably should have put the game away after 3 or 4 holes, but I didn't. Just one of those nights that all the old demons crept back into my game. 97% shots, ball squirt beyond the normal, putts that I'd slam past the hole, all those things I thought I had gotten a hold of and was able to minimize their impact. Newp! It became comical after a while and I really think the game knows when it is being unfair to you cause then somewhere out of no where I ended up making a 58 foot swinging putt for eagle that was travelling way to fast but managed to hit the hole perfectly, pop up and back into the hole. It was as if the game felt sorry for me. LOL Oh well, for a brief instant I thought maybe I had crossed the line into some of the elite golfers and I could shoot consistent scores. Hubris reared its head and brought me back to earth. It is okay, all the more reason to fight for it harder next time. I think I'm on the Euro tour for a couple weeks so I'll try again next week.

Gotta say, thought i'd be further away from the winning total than I will end up being.
On one hand, looks like another Top 10 - happy with the consistency.
On the other, I threw away 6/7 silly (and I mean really silly) shots that could have made the difference....

Great shooting again this week Ian, congrats on another fine victory How i didn't win though I'll never know? The golf gods are officially mocking me. I keep missing out on winning stuff by a single stroke and I'm getting some horrible luck in the process. This week has been terrible in all three tournaments that I played in, two here and the HB Knockout. Here are my woes from this weeks final round, where I played great but didn't get rewrded. The putt on 9 goes straight over the cup at no speed. Notice the 159 yard holeout when it's all a little too late, just to rub the salt in

judging by that video there must of been some pad twisting with how close a lot of them putts went it wont be long before them putts are dropping and ur winning by 5 again bud to be honest I really didn't think -48 was guna be enough I missed quite a few 6-8 footers and 3 putting the par 5 17th in the forth round I thought would really cost me

Tough luck, Mr. Garcia! I was following the finish here as I saw your 60-60-60 and 12 back going into round four. The slimmest of margins in the end. Those always make us really lament the small misses and bad luck.
But then, there is always next week, right?!?! That is how I always look at it. I know your standards are higher than mine, but don't forget that. Next week they could be falling in from all over the course like Doyley did on the PGA this past week.
Also, congrats to you Mr. Sweeney. Another win, but not without last day dramatics. Well done, sir!

Grats Ian. I feel your pain Brad. This is what I have been saying to HB about those putts that absolutely 100% should go in, going over the majority of the hole and somehow stay out. It is as if the hole is actually not there on some of them.
Well played regardless.
