I'm an emotional wreck after round 1, started birdie, eagle, par. And somehow managed to hold it together for the remaining 15 holes to get around in -17. I can't possibly tee up again tonight my nerves are shot. And I don't remember where I made the other par on the back nine!
I need a lie down!

My third round started the same as my first two, for some reason, I can not birdie the first hole, eagle on the second again also, another near perfect approach for a easy approach for eagle. If I could play every approach like that, I'd be sitting pretty. I got it right on the third for a tap in birdie before a lip out putt stopped my good shot run. I was feeling good though, I seemed to be playing good approach shots and for me to score well, that is necessary, I can not rely on my putting, which can be his and miss. I flirted with the rough with my tee shot on five but got away with it, a tap in birdie was the result. I got it right again on the sixth, in fact it was perfect, my second hole in one of the tournament. As soon as the ball left my club, I knew it was good, i was not expecting a ace, just thought it would be close enough for a easy birdie, what a great start, just needed to keep focused and keep mistakes to a minimum. I closed out the front nine pretty well with two birdies and a par, eight under at the turn was exciting, I had to keep calm, I have had good front rounds collapse into nothingness before, don't want it to happen again.
I could not help it, I took a unnecessary risk on the tenth, cutting as much as the water as I could, will I ever learn to play safe. My heart was in my mouth as the ball cleared the water, I was in the rough but with just a short pitch for my second, so this time it worked out, silly golf but fun golf. I had two long putts over the next two holes as my approaches finally started to leave me down, one dropped, one just passed the edge of the hole, happy with both putts. Two birdies followed and I was twelve under after fourteen, just par all the way and I would equal my first round score, take just one birdie chance to better it. I was nervous now, it was scary how well I was playing. I would be happy if I was on the eighteenth but there was four more holes to go, I needed a drink! I did not find the green on fifteen, I putted from the fringe, it did not drop but took away the risk of over hitting a chip, still twelve under. I found the rough on sixteen, I over hit my approach, I was trying not to be short, I went to long, panic was setting in now, I was over thinking. I was off the green, ten yards from the hole, no safe putt this time. I had to chip. I checked the break carefully, I just wanted to land the ball close for a tap in. No tap in was needed as the ball slowly rolled into the hole for birdie, thirteen under, two to play, will this round ever end. The seventeenth, a short par five, a eagle chance, a vicious hook on my second shot that sent my ball into the heavy rough forty five yards to the left of the green, I was trying my best to screw up this round. A deep breath and a near perfect recovery shot, fourteen under, one to play. I forced myself not to take the risky shot on the last, there was a internal battle inside my mind, two sides of my brain screaming at each other. While that was going on, my body sneakily took the safe shot, I had a good chance of going fifteen under, the putt broke a little but nothing I could normally manage. I missed it, I did not care. I gathered my clubs and ran off the course as quick as I could before some official discovered some long lost rule that would get me disqualified.
I think that might have been the best I have played since joining the tour, sure I made mistakes but I recovered well from them. That last putt, well not going to worry about it. I am also not going to worry about my last round. I'll finish where I finish, more than likely outside the top ten with some of the scores being posted, the last day being a windy day so anything can happen. I'm just going to have fun, take some risks, push myself a little and enjoy the game, have fun all.

Unbelievable scoring!
Right prediction time. 8th place is currently 25.5 under (the way I see it) There fore I reckon. By my crazy in formulated math that -51 will be the cut line for top ten. (I hope ) Possibly -50 might do it , as final two rounds were more difficult.
That said it will prob be -52 lol

I'm going to need two strong final rounds to have a chance of staying up. A -14 is needed to sneak back in the top ten for round three after a disappointing second round.

I started my final round a little differently, the last three round were par eagle, this time I went birdie birdie. The result being the same but a positive start. I know the wind could catch me out at some stage, so care has to be taking. A tap in birdie on the third and I had the start I wanted, still a long way to go but I had to stay positive, the more birdies that drop, the more room I give myself for wind related errors. I missed a seven foot putt on the forth, there was a lot of break so it was not the easiest of putts, it was make able though so will have to mark that down as a mistake. I got back on track at the next hole with a similar putt, four under. It should have been five under on the sixth, a easy putt that I overthought, very disappointing after playing the windy tee shot well. The increasing wind was now starting to affect the flight of the ball. I played it wrong on the seventh and did not give myself any chance of birdie, was happy to take par. I went five under on the eight before finishing the front nine with birdie number six. A smart front nine, I played carefully, my mistakes were minor. Just need to do the same on the back nine.
The back nine started with increasing wind and increasingly difficulty, for the first time this round, my approach shot did not land anywhere near the hole. A good putt put me close for a simple par put. The approach on eleven was not easy, 170 yards, up hill into a very strong wind. I debated with myself about which club to use and finally went with three iron. It was the right choice, the ball hit the ground about six feet in front of the cup, ran straight and true for eagle. I have played some great shots this tournament, this one rates high on the list. The twelfth was a hole I just wanted to survive, my tee shot was to long, my chip shot nearly dropped but was more than happy to walk away with par. The birdies had stopped at this stage, it was a battle against the wind now. I did come close but the ball just would not drop. I would like to pick up another shot or two but the main goal has to be not to drop any. I finally picked up a shot on fifteen and it was down to a good putt for a change. I did not make it easy for myself with my first two shots, nine under, two to play. I did not play the last two holes well, par on seventeen after a couple of poor shots. On the last, I did not really know what to do with my tee shot so I played safe, and when I mean safe, I mean baby proofing, wrapped in cotton wool safe. I was left with a approach that I found difficult to read and I over hit. Thankfully my birdie putt was pretty much straight to leave me finishing with a ten under 62.
This tournament has broken all sort of records for me. My first bogey free tournament, most Eagles, most birdies, my lowest ever score in a round, my lowest score in a tour event. Yes, the course was on the easy side but that does not take away the fact I played well. It will be interesting to see where I end up on the leaderboard. I don't think it's enough for a top ten, might have needed a couple more shots for that. I was sitting eight after three rounds so I might just miss out. No matter what, it has been a good week, good luck to all that still have rounds to play, have fun out there.

Fantastic tournament Dan, got be be top 10 with that, surely? I won't be online tonight if tonight's tournament goes live early I will try and play my rounds after work. Let me know what it's called, otherwise I'll play it tomorrow.

I doubt it will be top ten as there a lot of scores in the 50s but I am not going to complain, tonight's tournament is called Friday the 13th. It's ready to play now, so good luck if you play early. We can't leave the euro tour boys win again.
