Figured I'd get discussion going for next week for us early finishers.
What a difference compared to Oktoberfest. I think someone mentioned in another thread that they wouldn't be surprised to see someone break -50. I'll agree with that 100%.
I went -8 in my first practice round basically playing speed golf. Missed a number of birdie putts by literally inches. Obviously gale force winds could be the great equalizer. But barring that, you better be hitting double digits every round.

yeah this course is a lot different then Oktoberfest for sure. I think I played this a while ago and shot 9 or 10 under my first time. We'll seen some 56's this week

There are at least 3 holes that have absolutely 0 curvature of the green within a 5 feet radius of the pin. There are at least 10 holes that are relatively flat around the pin. There are 2 or 3 holes that are on a fairly steep grade that are tough to birdie. But other than that, this course is going to be devoured in week 4 by almost all web.com players. High -40's for sure and probably into the -50's for the winner. I predict the cut line to be around -17.

Bogeys will be devastating for this tournament. Definitely the lowest scoring tourney this season in the Web.

I think it's the 8th hole...Is it actually possible to birdie? I found on playing a practice round that it was damn near impossible as far as I could see...maybe I've missed something.

I've played 3 practice rounds here. -10 +2 -5 It almost like 3 different players played those rounds. My putting has to improve if I'm going to compete here in the Web.

Wow! I must have been practicing on the wrong course! Rage quit 2 times. I'm not seeing a birdie-fest at all...must be me. I'm expecting around even to -3 per round for me and another missed cut. Best to you guys, Ken

Best to you guys, Ken Yeah - I played it last night for the first time and the green were absolutely brutal. I don't think I'm playing the same course as you guys. On XB1 there was Harvest Hills Country Club, TPC Harvest Hills, Harvest Hills GC, and one more. I played Harvest Hills Country Club. I shot a -6 I think. That included one long putt, one 20 footer that I aimed 3 grids over, and birdies on all the par 5s. Nothing was easy IMO with every putt 10 feet or more at least one grid of break (probably more since I missed them all). Plus, some of the fairways were full of bunkers with slivers of fairway. With wind those will be awful to deal with. But -40s or -50s on that? No way

Wrong course pal.
Harvest Hills Golf Club. Should be handicap rated. Starts with a par 5.

Wrong course pal. Harvest Hills Golf Club. Should be handicap rated. Starts with a par 5. ok good! I'll give the correct one a try then. My goal on the web.com tour was just to make the cuts. I think I'll adjust that for a few weeks to be "See if you can read the course list correctly"

I honestly think this course is better suited for CC than Web. Surprised that this is the Web course for next week. For the record, shot -13 and -15 the two times I played this for fun. Would have to believe that someone is going to shoot a sub-60 average on this course, even if the winds are up.

Seriously though, for a course that really doesn't present many difficulties nor requires that much thinking, it really doesn't seem to fit the higher tours.

Seriously though, for a course that really doesn't present many difficulties nor requires that much thinking, it really doesn't seem to fit the higher tours. I recall Oswinner talking about this early on. Start with some tougher courses, then a break with a birdie fest, then back to some tougher - so like a cycle. It makes sense to me since it is hard to please everyone. I personally don't like the birdie-fest courses since a par feels like a bogey. But some people love and excel on those types. Should be another interesting week!
