I don't tee off until tomorrow but I was kind of worried about heading the pebble beach and its lovely sandy beaches, I did not want a repeat of the speedos incident from earlier in the week. I decided to check on the web.com guys to see what their plans were and was relieved that their tiny little brains has caused confusion on the web.com. When they heard they were heading to Oktoberfest, they thought that golf was cancelled for the week and they were going on a Oktoberfest drinking trip. So they wont be appearing at Pebble Beach. It is really funny though, they are so light weight that after drinking a couple beers that they had brought with them, they started getting really drunk. I saw Dean looking for Sunderland fans, demanding justice with a one on one football match. Chris got so drunk that he stole a lawn mower and was trying to mow his name into one of the fairways. Last time I saw Kenny, he was trying to cut down a tree so he could have a tossing the caber contest for what he called the first international web.com highland games. So basically its safe for the challenge circuit this week, so have fun guys, shoot well and I look forward to hearing about your scores.

Still three rounds to go so fingers crossed those putts will drop. It's something that happens to me as well and it can be frustrating but if getting close, we must be doing something right and sooner or later, those lip outs and edged putts will become birdies. Stay positive and good luck with your reminding rounds.

So I finished T8 on a sponsor's exemption in CC-C last week.I was 3rd best on exemptions and four shots back on the best exemption. I recieved a mail today today say I'd earned an exemption but I'm registered to play in CC-C still. Surely this is incorrect?

Another fantastic course for the challenge circuit, also another course where all chances have got to be taking to stay high on the leaderboard, like last week. I am not sure when I will get to play all my rounds this week, might have to play more than one round a day which is unusual for me but first, let's see how I got on in the first round. I started by trying to cut the corner to much and failed to find the fairway, I avoided the heavy rough so I still had a decent lie for my second shot, a second shot that I left way to short. Two mistakes in two shots was not the way I wanted to start, so when I still made birdie with a long putt, it felt damn good. I had a long eagle putt on the second but played it very carefully, memories of putts running off the green last week put me off going for it, a bad downhill putt can really punish. I putted gently with the aim of being a few feet from the hole, this worked for my second birdie of the day. Again I left myself with a long putt on the third, no birdie this time. I needed to improve on my approaches, me relying on putting would not lead to a good score, it is the weakest part of my game. This proved to be the case on the next hole when I missed a make able birdie putt. I got back on the scoring sheet on the fifth when I played a excellent tee shot, a simple birdie followed to go three under. Two more birdies followed for what was my best start to a event in a long time. The birdie streak came to a halt on the eight when I misjudged the wind a little, nothing major, just enough to carry the green, a par was never in doubt which I was happy to take after a error. I finished the front nine with par when again I got the wind slightly wrong, five under for the front nine is a decent score, maybe I could have picked up another shot or two but I was not going to complain. I am not looking for a win, or even a exemption. I just want four steady rounds, after my poor start the past two weeks, steadying the ship is my goal.
The back nine started positively with a approach to within two feet of the hole. With a fourteen mile a hour wind, it was a good shot, the tap in birdie was as good as a start to the back nine as I could have hoped. I should have made birdie on eleven, a good approach let down by a poor putt but as long as I was not dropping shots, I was happy. The tee shot on twelve was not easy because of pin position and a tail wind, landing the ball close was next to impossible. I was left with a twenty five foot downhill putt. I got the line right but hit it a little to hard, the ball hopped over the hole and stopped a couple of feet away. The putt was not really a birdie chance, just one I nearly got lucky with. I got a similar length putt right on the next hole to pick up a shot, the difference this time was it was a uphill putt so hitting it that bit harder was not going to be punished. The fourteenth brought my first kicking myself error of the round, a straightforward six foot putt missed for birdie, a shot i would get ninety nine percent of the time. A bit of a downer but at least no dropped shot. Par, birdie followed before I nearly put myself in trouble on seventeen, I over hit a downhill putt and it ran past the hole further than I would have liked. I recovered with a good par putt though to keep me on eight under. I came so close to dropping a fifty foot eagle putt on the last, it was a lag putt that nearly turned into a great putt. I tapped in for birdie to finish with a bogey free sixty three.
A good steady round, I only put myself in trouble the one time and recovered well from that. Maybe I could have scored a little better but I am not going to worry about that. I relied a little to much on the putter and some of those birdies will not always drop. They did today though, so I am not going to think about my approaches until my next round. If I can play just as steady over the next three rounds, I will be very happy. Like I said earlier, I have no major goals for this tournament outside getting my form back and this was a good start towards that.

Hey fellers. I can't find the tourny in the game this morning. Do I just need to check later? It's a tour I believe as it's a multi pin set up. So try searching in Tours instead

I wish I hadn't found the tourney. Shot an opening round 69. Don't fret Joey - The course is playing tough, especially in round 1. I think as the rounds go on virtually every hole is birdieable if you play it right. Might be worth sitting tight and letting a few scores trickle in to see what you need to do... I don't know about you but I also find playing with a low scoring ghost to be helpful too. You can match up the gamertags to players on here and follow them around to see where they are placing shots? Hope you pick it up in round 2

I like the idea of playing with a low scoring ghost.
