With at least a dozen people that haven't submitted their round 2 scores yet and three more dozen that have yet to tee off, the cut line is sure to be around -9. 56 people at -9 or better right now so if just 14 of the 50 or so people that have not completed both rounds yet submit at -9 or better, this will be the cut line. Sorry remlap, you'll get back on track for week 4.

I played a practice round on the Saturday version. Is it just me or are the pin positions nearly the same across the first 3 setups? I noticed very little difference in hole location, these greens would be trampled on so much by the weekend that they would hardly be playable, yet another weakness in the course design.
The par 5 with the 3rd shot into the downhill green (forget the exact hole, 15th maybe?) always seems to have the same pin location, about 6 meters off the front of the green, where you can play short & feed the ball to the hole quite nicely.
The short par 4 18th changed by a mere few yards, but the pin is in relatively the same location.
Didn't notice many other hole locations that were different from Round 1, 2 or 3. Wondering if others have noticed the same??

Come on guys, lets calm this down. I'm not used to this on TGCT forums. People have different opinions but at the end of the day Tim, Doyley and his team make the rules and we abide by them. Top 5 finish and you have the choice of going for promotion, win 3 and you don't have the choice. Some people are asking for top 5's to be made to take the exemption and others are asking for it to be actually harder. Lets just go with the rules and enjoy the game of golf please. Well said Dean.

Anyway, back to the golf. I've still not played my first round yet. Was ready to go last night but then I got a +8 in my final practice. This is not going well. I'm going to have to play 2 rounds tonight so wish me luck. I think most of my rivals will be getting one on me this week. Good luck mate, it's a tough test this week, be careful on those greens. Looking forward to your post round forum update on how you got on.

I was curious after reading all this bickering about exemptions so I looked up the current standings of the 5 players playing on the PGA tour with web.com exemptions.
After 2 rounds here's how they sit (+5 is the cut line right now): Klien -4 (18th) Fox -1 (32) Mathew +1 (43) McD +9 (81) Gordon YET TO TEE OFF
Seems like they are performing pretty well overall. The rules are the rules, if someone wants to pass on an exemption to stay on the web then who cares. I don't understand it myself, as I'd take any chance I could get to play with the top level guys (my game gets better playing with better competition), but that's just me. I'd rather miss the cut on the top level then win on the web.

Totally agree I played great round 1 and had a disaster in round 2 I think I was +13 through 14 holes clawed it back to +11 and finished +9 :-(. I felt very unlucky with the course choice as it's probably was the worst week for taking an exemption as the course and wind was so hard, at least I tried though hopefully I'll be lucky enough to get another top 5 as it is very hard to get a top 5, this is why I would never turn down an exemption. I want to play with the best and so what if I get hammered by 20 shots each week, it would give me more motivation to get better at the game so just don't understand why someone would turn one down, it's like a team winning the championship and refusing to play premiership football :-). Lads take your exemptions coz they are very hard to earn as the skill level is so good on web

Yeah they are all doing well up there apart from nantez (sorry nant ) who I know had an awful front 9 on his second round after a good start, that course can be really punishing. I won't be too worried about the exemptions for the moment anyway as I'm yet to get a top 30 but I would jump at the chance if I do get one. The rules are the rules as you and others have said and we'll just have to accept it if people don't want to take their exemption. I'm sure the topic will come up again soon when someone has a few consecutive top 5's and chooses not to use their exemptions

Yeah the wind was very strong round 2 and I just couldn't hit a fairway and was being punished by the rough and hacking up to the green, chipping on and 3 putting most of the time was horrible seeing all the ghost balls chipping in all the time too when mine were running miles past after hitting the lip.would have been happy with +9 if I had went +5,+4 but to go -2,+11 is a right kick in the arse.Congratulations to all the other exemptions who made the cut very impressive :-)

Very happy with my 63,63 start - managed to sink a lot of 10 footers which helped.
Last week was in a similar position then blew out so looking to hold my nerve this time!

I know I'll get back on track. Hell I have a God damn trophy in my trophy case! And I'm in the Web.com making legit cash! Of course I'll get back on track!

You're entitled to play this game any way you deem fit and people should respect that. Me personally if i was regularly finishing top 5 I would still choose to stay in web all season and promote at the end as that is the way I prefer to play the game.

I think if that starts happening they will change the rules and force exemptions like on CC fair enough if its top 10 getting exemptions like other tours but its hard to get a top 5. Maybe it would be better if there were no exemptions and the fields are set till the finish of the season and the money list decides who goes up but I suppose that is not fair on the CC guys trying to get up. There is no real solution to it I suppose so I will just respect the rules in place and take my exemption should I get one and if others decide not to take theirs then let them at it.

Yeah but if you are finishing top 5 all the time and not going up it's unfair on people who want to go up as your taking 1 out of 5 spots. I'm sorry but what's the point in not wanting to better yourself or do you just want to collect as many trophies as you can?kind of big fish little pond strategy, I just don't get why anyone wouldn't want to play PGA/EURO and compete with the best players in the world. Sorry if I'm coming across bad it's just my opinion and obviously you are entitled to yours.jayzuz wouldn't want to finish 6th to you anytime soon haha

Shaking my head at this sort of stuff. Just doesn't make sense to me ask any person or any team in any sport would you rather be gaurenteed to be playing at the pinicle now or possibly in a years time what would they say? Its just like the lads missing greens deliberately to chip in. Yes its not real life but im sure both the game and tour where set up to be as close to real as possible. Maybe I'm in the wrong but reading these sort of comments are more painful than falling down a flight of stairs into a cactus (I would imagine).

When you guys get into a top 5 or win then you can decide for yourselves to take an exemption and play up. Until then stop judging and bullying people into feeling bad for not wanting to move up after THREE weeks on Web. I get what everyone is saying but you are not the rule makers and the rules are clear, it is a choice, so let it go.
