I voted on this although I am not a CC player anymore, I got a Web card as I was lucky enough to finish in the top 100 at Challenge Championship. I was a middle of the road CC-A player until then but would have welcomed a cut system when on CC and still would should I not earn enough on Web to keep my card and end up back in CC through missed cuts. There would probably have to be a change to the strike system with cuts though as it is quite punishing for inconsistent players already as Phyler pointed earlier.

There are already players talking about the scores in the -40's and saying they could never reach those heights, so giving them a further kick in the teeth buy bringing in cuts, I can see people walking.
But a lot of us on here have worked hard at our game and if you're prepared to put the hours/work in, then you can get up there with the best of them.

I think that some of the top end players in the lower flights probably shouldn't be there and their scores are what put people off the most. If guys at the top are regularly hitting -30 to -40's then they should not be in D or E. Maybe the cuts would be a kick in the teeth for the lower end players but they get a strike anyway for a finish outside a cut line which is worse.

I think at the moment it can be quite difficult to progress to a higher flight. I'm playing in CC-D at the moment but my score this week would have put me in the top 10 in CC-A. It just takes one bad round when you're on an exemption and you're back where you started in a very competitive flight. Let's face even 4 good rounds most times isn't good enough as 2 or 3 guys on exemption always shoot great scores so you really need to play out of your skin on exemption to stay up. I think a top ten finish should get you an automatic promotion to the next flight. You would see the better players in lower flights progress quicker. It's unlikely that someone is going to fluke their way into the top 10 but maybe we could have a rule where if you get promoted and finish outside the top 70 you get 2 demotion strikes. This would give you another chance to stay in that flight the next week rather than being sent straight back down.

Great post twister, this seems to be the problem that is keeping higher quality players on a lower tour, it seems quite hard to stay up at the higher level once you get an exemption if you have an off round at all then your back in your old flight only adding to the quality of the field the following week. I see there is a -50 posted in E this week, that is the best score of all the flights and beating the rest of E by 16 shots. Very impressive scoring.

-50 in E?? That's some shooting alright I think that's why there should be straight promotion up two flights at least.if you are able to shoot scores like that you are good enough to go up. This is why people are being put off playing in the lower leagues as they feel they will never be able to compete and it is very unfair on them to see -40,-50 every week.I'm on pga exemption next week and I would struggle to match that score
