I see now my -23 won't win, but after my -6 start after two rounds, I'm proud of myself for playing a good two final rounds and probably being in the top10. I stayed Mentally strong and remained positive this tournament. Good traits to use moving forward. Love these tougher courses

Tale of 2 rounds.
R1. After practicing and playing decent on it I decided to fall apart when it mattered. Went in the water at least 3 times and kept driving into the rough even though I've made notes not to be aggressive! Ha. Ended up +5.
R2. Started off like the first. Was already in the mindset of F' THIS and get it out the way. +1 heading to the par 3 5th a defeated man. This was going to finish me off. All of a sudden, BOOM! Hole in one!!! WTF just happened! And then there was at least some hope of making the cut. I somehow went and shot -9 which got me to -4 over 2 rounds, which means unfortunately I'm going to have to go through the torture of rounds 3 and 4.

I did know that. TY so much for that. Yeah really a bug that HB needs to fix. I know they are looking at this and possibly setting the loft at 1 box max either way for all clubs which would make it better. People using the 3I and lofting way up to land it softer on the firmer greens isn't ideal either. Re the mega deloftes wedge out of the rough... select punch shot on a wedge and loft up one box it is the same shot. Just saying.

The punch shot could be revamped as it is, it isn't very good out of the rough. Still a delofted SW should not (in this game) go 180+ yards.

Looking like the cut will be +1. Possibly E. Has there ever been a cut that high on the PGA?

John Deere cut last season was +12...challenge accepted! Someone mentioned black widow earlier in the thread. Might as well see if you can set up a tournament with that course with 18+ mph winds.

Decided to play a round on this course tonight to see if I regretted deciding not to use my sponsors exemption...
I was -4 after 4 and really regretting it and then I finished with a 70.. lol. If you're not in the prime spot, this course really takes it out of you.

Just finished my first 2 rounds on this beast of a course. First round struggled a bit for a -1, but was very pleased to be under par. Second round was kind of a blur, don't really know what happened but I had somewhat of an out of body experience and had my greatest round ever on this game. Shot a -10 So i'm sitting pretty good at -11 although I'm sure i'll choke somewhere in rounds 3 or 4, it's inevitable.

Funny to look at the GIR and putting stats for scorecards posted so far. More than half the field is less than 50% GIR. Jared Klein hit a whopping 27.8% GIR but still finished -2 with 0.94 putts per hole lol.

Almost every tee shot I hit leaked towards the short side I was playing (against the wind) and ended up rolling into heavy rough. Like I said earlier, my round 1 had to be the hardest earned under par I've shot in this game. That longest putt at 48.9 ft (or something)? Happened on #9 for par after hitting into heavy rough on the tee shot, taking the second shot to the fairway on the tee side of the water, having the ball spin back just enough to hit the 3 ft of slope below the pin on the third shot, and "straight" up 49 ft + 2/3 ft for par. Meanwhile, my longest chip-in was from 6.6 yd out, so nothing outrageous happened there. Had to deal with the shitty positions I barely got into off the tee that round.
