Well I wasn't expecting the round I shot, though I do admit that after playing no-aids golf my aids-on putting has increased dramatically, though the greens are pretty easy.
Anyways, 7 under after nine holes to begin the first round, closed out with an eagle on the final hole to lock in a 60 (-12) score. Stoked as.
Proceeded to round two where huge winds were the norm. Struggled to begin with then started getting the approaches a bit more spot on. Was sitting ok till I hit the 17th and huge headwinds, Tee in the bunker, 4 iron from the bunker = fail hard, repeat but with 7 iron, poor 4th shot, three putts = triple bogey on an easy hole. Birdied the last hole for a 67 (-5) score. Stoked still.
Good luck all, not sure what the cut will be.

First week in Euro and it looks like a missed cut for me. I really don't think I'm good enough to compete at this level, but I've decided to give it a minimum of 10 weeks to see what transpires. My skills seem to have plateaued and I don't see how I can improve enough to reach the level required on this tour. Maybe a return to the Web will be in order eventually, otherwise I fear I may lose interest. Oh well, keep plodding on I suppose.

I thought that too but I've managed to straighten my shots and sort out chipping, I'm not up to your level but you need to look at areas where you lose out to the top players and work on them. I know it's easier said than done.

This is my first week on the Euro tour. I struggled most of last year just to make the cut each week and I don't expect this year to be any easier, except that I have been practicing a lot trying to improve my game. Starting the year with a 241 WGR. Hoping to move into the top 150 by the end of the year Anyway, my first round was a -9. That's all, saving round 2 for tomorrow. I admire those of you that don't need instant gratification like I do.

I'm -14 for two rounds and think I may miss the cut. I think I'm really going to struggle this season as to be honest I played about as well as I am capable of. I thought -6 for round 2 in those winds was pretty good but looking at the other scores coming in apparently not.

Best of luck to everyone else

Well looks like I've missed my first cut on the Euro tour better start practicing for next week. I tried the course out for next week, it's a links style but with really narrow fairways and loads of slopes on greens if the wind gets up its gonna be really tough to score well on. I'm not sure if I should maybe sign up for the PGA next tournament that's on a desert style course I'm thinking it might be a bit easier to score on. Decisions decisions

Anyone that plays those huge elevation changes with huge winds WITHOUT a ghost and still shoots low has my upmost respect here. It's almost almost required to play with a ghost here to stay competitive, don't know how you trailblazers do it. Anyone who plays with ghost ball should be demoted in my opinion. You might aswell ask the guy whos ghost ball ur playin against to take your shot if u cannot work it out yourself. Takes the the skill and reward out of hitting your own shots. Do not mean to offend anybody here just think you should play your own shots.

I also keep hearing a few of the newly promoted boys not having much confidence about competing. Im sure there is a good few of you that should of been playing on this tour before now but got stuck having to move up through the tours. There are also plenty of us who struggled at the early stages of last year and then started to compete more and more. Do not beat yourself up if you find it hard early on, keep your confidence and keep trying. Some of you will end up thinking "what was i worried about?" Good luck to you all.

There are certainly counter-arguments to your point that no one should play a ghost ball, with the main one being that professionals play in a foursome, not alone. But yeah, I sorta agree with you that you should take your own shots. Just not with the part that anyone that uses a ghost ball should be demoted (without, of course, an official decree). The only thing with that when professionals play together the all hit the ball different yardages so they do not tend to hita club just cos the other guy did. I am not saying im right anyway just i would rather hit my own shot and feel rewarded that i hit it. Lol i was not being serious about the demotion mate. Was a bit extreme. Just trying to get the point over that i think we should play on our own.

I like to figure out things for myself......that's half the fun.

One thing about playing non turn based ghosts is that you get to see every shot and putt before you hit your own. In real golf, you don't always hit/putt last.

Round 2 was the same as the first, another -9. I am happy considering the winds were so crazy on the back.
Looking forward to the weekend.

Currently -12 and worse is below cutline. Approximately 50 people to tee off, of which I see some names that will light it up. The cut could be as high as -17, though probably be -14 or -15...
Thoughts?

Okay then... I have finished my tournament for this week: Rd1: 59 (-13) Rd2: 61 (-11) Rd3: 56 (-16) Rd4: 62 (-10) Total: -50I remember that when I was on the first tee in Rd1 and I added a ghost ball I saw someone with -50 already finished and I thought: "What the hell? I'm surely gonna struggle making the cut..."Now, 4 rounds later, I'm sitting at that exact same score! Unfortunately, I was not able to keep pace with the top guys on the PS4-leaderboard in my 4th round. I was (still) in the lead after the front nine, but then my opponents started to shoot extremely well. Winds were pretty high, but different to Rd2 I struggled a bit more to get my ball somewhere near the pin. Still made a few long(er) putts, but in the end it was not enough. Was sitting on the leaderboard as T3rd when I was done, and we will see what that is going to be as soon as everybody has finished their rounds. Anyway... if someone has told me prior to this opening event that I'm going to contest for the victory until the 72nd hole, I would have told him to stop drinking... IMMEDIATELY! While a victory would have been awesome, this is still going to be a pretty decent result. And some nice prize money to start the season with.
