Round 3 should be fun for everyone.
Rounds 1&2: 3-7 mph Round 3: 20-22 mph Round 4: 11-12 mph
Only had time to play Thursday and Sunday setup before going into this, and that was over a week ago. Found a lot of hole locations on slopes and wish I had paid more attention to where I wanted to land the ball. I think pin high is a terrible place to be on most holes. Missed quite a few 5'-6' putts and almost always to the low side. So yes, those side-hill putts really do break more than you probably think they do.
I felt I had a terrible round 2. Had a large number of shots that went 15-20 yards off line while playing into the green, and when I didn't recover enough from that, I often got a bogey.
Anyways, scored 60, 63, 68, 63 (-26). I think quite a few people will be able to beat it as long as they don't get beaten up by round 3. I am going to say winner will be -32 or -33.
Doesn't really matter though since I forgot to register/didn't know if I had enough time for this event. I keep forgetting that registration closes on Friday/Saturday. (Doyley/Tim must be sick of me by now, haha)

Went 60 61 67 67 for -25. Round 3 was quite the challenge. Pretty disappointed with my Round 4 score considering the winds were much more manageable than Round 3. But I'll take it. Hoping -25 will be good enough for an exemption.

Working 12hr shifts all week so decided to blitz all four rounds this avo...-12 -8 +5 -4. Total of -19. No complaints on the swing this week (thank goodness) & was happy with first two rounds. Wind was just brutal on day three and cost me big time with a very poor round, last round was with 13mph winds and scored okay but should have done better. Thoroughly enjoyable none the less and really enjoyed this one. Good luck all. ⛳️

You know when I called you out, you were supposed to quiver in fear, play badly and leave me beat you. Not shoot a fantastic round like that. I shall have the last laugh though, after I finish playing tonight, I am going to watch Braveheart, not the entire movie mind you. Just the end where they execute William Wallace, so there!

Nooooo, I spent 30 minutes writing the greatest round review ever and now it's gone. I have no idea what what happened to it. This is as frustrating as my back nine!! Anyway six under, 8 pars on back nine. A 6 foot eagle putt which ended as par, a bogey free round. Changing my mind about what shot I was playing mid swing with not good results. A mixed round over all. That's the condensed version of my round. This is annoying, was such a good report as well. Still if this is the worst thing to happen today, it will be a good day.

This game is as my niece would say, a meany pants. It's a school yard bully, it taunts me, mocks me, leaves me alone for a day or two to give me hope then takes all that hope away with a smarmy look on its face as it plays yet another prank on me. I started round two with a dropped shot so my hopes of two bogey free rounds shot down at the first hole. Three birdies over the next four holes made me think that that first hole was just a little blip,a tiny little spot on a pure white shirt, a single rain cloud on a sunny day, a little hair in my otherwise perfect pint. I really should stop thinking. I parred the next three holes, never really gave myself any birdie chances with poor approach play. It was poor putting that left me down on the ninth sending me back to one under. The bully in the game then left me alone for a couple of holes, back to three under before he returned with his cruelest prank of the day. Seven pars in a row, I know that that does not seem so mean but it was. You see, every single on of those pars was a couple of inches from birdie. I could not believe it as each and every putt stopped a inch or two short, rolled past by a inch or two to stop a foot away. It was cruel, it was mean, it was sneaky and underhanded. I get the feeling my next round will be different, nothing as carefully planned as that, nothing that gets my hopes up a little. I think in round three, the golf club bully is going to come straight up to me a kick my in the balls.

Heavily protected under armour fully advisable for day three Dan, I think a good few of us were beaten up badly on that round. Having been kicked in the balls countless times my golfer walked off the course like Clint Eastwood in an old fashioned western movie, there was no good however, just the bad and the ugly!!!!

Posted a 60/65 in the first 2 rounds. Round 2 featured double bogies on 1 and 18. Sheesh! I swear my thumbstick seemed mis-calibrated on 1. I slammed 2 putts 75 feet when I was using my normal stroke. Never had that happen before. Just got promoted to B flight this week. I hope everyone plays well!

Followed that up with a round 3 72. Two birdies and 4 bogies. If I could putt, I'd be dangerous....

Thanks, but sadly, it's a par 70 so that's 2 over. Finished at 65 with a total of -18.

Do you remember when Munster won the Heineken cup for the first time, spending twelve hours in the pub and everything seeming so perfect. All the women looking stunning, all the men being your best friend. Standing shoulder to shoulder with recently released from prison Paddy( I eat cute and furry animals for breakfast) Macarthy singing the Fields of Athenry. But underneath all that good cheer, there was a hint of everything not being perfect. You put your pint down and when you reach for it again, it seems to have moved five feet down the bar. When heading to the chipper on the way home, you aim for the entrance but miss and walk into the wall instead. The whole world seems to be spinning and things not in their right place. That's what The Timberwolf is like in high winds, it looks great, you can see where the ball is supposed to go but after you take your shot, the fairways, the bunkers all move position and nothing is as it seems. My front nine can be summed up in one word, par. I never came close to making birdie and had one longish putt to save par which felt like a birdie. I knew I was going to drop shots at some stage and the round was about damage limitation, so every par was good, it was keeping the damage down. I finally got a birdie chance on the eleventh which I took, then followed that with two more pars. My first bad shot came on the fourteenth, I found myself in heavy rough after my tee shot with no way to even get close to the green, I dropped a shot but made a good put to avoid a double. Over the next three holes, I played two more bad shots, both resulting in bogey. While it was disappointing to drop shots, two over with one to play was not bad at all. Before I started the round, I told myself anything less than four over in these conditions will be good. The last hole had a tail wind and the possibility of birdie, I landed my approach within six foot and that birdie felt so good. One over to finish left my very happy with my round.
Overall, I was happy with the way I played, I found the rough a bit to often but mainly covered well. My lag putting was as good as I could have hoped with a couple coming close to dropping. I really only played three really bad shots the entire round. I did not play any amazing shots but since this round was about keeping the score as close to par as possible, it worked out pretty well. I just want a top seventy finish. I think maybe three or four under might do in my last round. Playing safe might be my best option, something I not always good at.

In those winds...that's a very good score Dan. I wish I could start round three again without the brain freeze or senior moment I had during that round! Sounds like you may be finding some form again... Well played and well done Sir.

Nice to see Chris find some form again last night in our late sessions. Looks like I'll need to think of some other tactic to distract him as it appears he's back on his game!! Maybe if Dan and I have regular spelling conversations mid round this would distract him slightly?
Dan "fit did ye score de last hole Kenny?" Kenny "goat a par Dan, whit aboot you?" Dan " Eeeeeee Ehhhhhh Geeeeeee illllll Eeeeeeeee"
In all seriousness some lovely play by all the guys last night (Chris,Gary,Dan,Dave)!! Here's to plenty more where that came from.
