Just wanted to start a thread discussing the new wind update fresh for week 30.
cat is out of the bag as far as the winds go, all rounds are double digit winds, and it was a blast.
round 1: 20-21 mph round 2: 14-15 mph round 3: 12 mph round 4: 9-10 mph
I predict less than 30 scores under par in round 1 rounds 2-4 are much easier, but still a good test, I doubt there will be many -10's or better this week in any round. round 4 would be the best winds to achieve it, but the pin locations are the toughest.
hole 18 is a major water threat in these winds, with that super narrow fairway hugging a creak all the way till it ends, and you hit into a small green across the water, i put it in the drink 2 or 3 times on this hole in the 4 rounds, all it takes is a slight mishit and the wind does the rest.
hole 16 is a disaster off the tee box, especially in round 1. even with that said, i almost holed out my 2nd shot not once but twice here, had a 5 wood lip out, and a 3 wood in final round stop within 2 feet of the cup, sadly this is a par 4, nearly 500 yards with quite the mess in the way off the tee box.
one thing i noticed in the first round, the punch shot does not seem to be working right in super high winds, it was like the wind did not effect it at all, I punched i think it was a 9 iron, and it flew much further than the suggested carry distance, with the wind strait in my face, thought that was odd, being that wind in my face was 20mph.
anyhoot, this was fun to play in, especially knowing everyone has to play in it (i hope).
i know im not winning, but i can rejoice in the fact that those who beat me did it fair and square, unlike all the prior weeks where i was almost always the first out and in, no matter the winds, always played the first 4 rounds as soon as the week began midnight friday night or whenever doyley got it started. using last week as an example, right off the first tee box, i knew i was not contending for the lead, was faced with 12mph winds, that isnt too tough to play in, but i can't compete against the guys who took advantage of 0-3mph winds for that same round. no more of that!!! me so happy.

Wind was a lot of fun. I will admit I was a little heated after my round 1, but it was mainly due to some ps4 issues. I had a couple ridiculous drops on 10 and 18. #10 it gave my drop zone as if the ghost ball I was playing with was the hazard, so that sucked. Doubled it. 18 it stuck me a couple hundred yards out after a 95% pitch shot in the water and tripled it. So after I got used to the weird swing problems and had to go to an extreme to correct it by purposely pushing shots a bit to hit it straight, I settled down and enjoyed the final 3 rounds in fair, strong winds. I shot 3 straight identical scores to end the tourney, and I'm thinking that should be a pretty good number, but it won't be enough to win because of my stinker of a first round. Wind fix seems perfect, consistent winds going in the same general direction with a bit of movement. Love it.

With PGA playing a harvest course and CC playing a tropical course there should be some high winds for sure this week, looking forward to it.

Sounds like it's windy just for the sake of being windy, iv never seen harvest that high, feel for the CC guys, especially the lower tiers can't imagine what the tropical is going to be like. Hope it is random for each tourney and not gradually reduced wind speed each round like the PGA, looking forward to my rounds tho should be fun!

Does anybody know the wind direction on the 1st tee for every round so we can monitor? The wind was the same for everyone last time it was just the prevailing direction was the issue.

The wind direction is random for each round. It went from S on R1 to E on R2 in the CC tour.

Harvest theme is set in the North American fall and generally have high winds. At least that's what written on the HB Studios site.

Not sure, but if you follow a ghost ball or two it should give you an idea

Can confirm the winds are set as the OP states.
Thursday 20-21mph Friday 13-15mph Saturday 12mph steady Sunday 8-9mph
As for my play, I feel I played pretty well. Had a few fist pumps on my couch. Was +4 through six holes and I just kept telling myself, "we got some par 5s coming up, let's try to right the ship." After my mental pep talk on the 7th tee, it was smooth sailing from there. I had my "feels" from that point on, my glutes were activating properly, and the baseline pattern shift we've been trying to implement in my swing was working nicely. It was nice to be able to play hard fades into draw winds and vice versa. Aside from a stupid double bogey 7 on a par 5, it was bogey free from the 6th hole Thursday.
"Hopefully I can win next week and get into a place I know very well." (Firestone CC)
This week will be the first tournament where the men will be separated from the boys. Period.

I played just now, and my ghost ball was right with the balls from you guys that played 12 hours ago. Looks like minimal swirling
