Since the idea of National Championships as well as a Nations Cup doesn't seem to have been suggested yet, I would be interested to have your opinion and tgctours officials' opinion on implementing such events inside the tgctours calendar. The way I imagine them would be:
1) NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS -- organized as a regular 4 rounds tournament (no cut line) but, instead of having a general leaderboard, it would be broken down by country and the first player for each country would be awarded the national title. 2) NATIONS CUP -- the winners of their respective National Championship would later go on to represent their country in a NATIONS CUP in a format similar to what was done for the Match Play Championship (direct elimination).
Of course I realize that countries such as the US or UK could have hundreds of contestants whereas other countries would have only 1 or 2 participants. But in real life, I'm confident that the US or UK national title is more difficult to win than the Lichtenstein title and consequently more prestigious Also I'm not sure that the top players, who already play Majors and the Match Play Championship, would care for such tournaments. If so, they could be organized as special events reserved to the Challenge Circuit players.
