In golf UK players are recognised by coming from either Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales or England. However, there seems to be a mix up on this tour. Half are UK, some are Scottish, some Welsh etc...Can't we have one or the other? (Preferably the way real golf is) Just a pet peeve of mine, sorry.

Some English/Scottish didn't want to be associated with each other so was separated. Some wanted UK so that was kept Personally I say do away with UK. We know which the main country is anyway... *runs before pitchforks are drawn*

I gotta tell ya, with all the things we want to do to this site, devoting manpower to this would pretty far down the list.

That's fair enough, it's nothing major, like I said just a pet peeve wanting to add to the golf experience. Don't know whether I'm in the Olympics or not, gets confusing :-p

I am from Wales and that is what my nationality on here is set at, but if anyone asks I always say British. Whenever I go to the US of A and anyone asks where I am from I will says Wales, because then the reply is normally Wales, England. Gives me a chance to bore them on the different "countries" of the UK and how the Scottish and English don't like each other. The Welsh don't mind the English or Scottish , not sure whether they like us though. I normally get a lot of Baaaaaaa noises from the English, not very original but they seem to find it funny. National stereotypes are great, the Welsh all sleep with sheep, the Scottish are all whiskey drinkers with a life span of 47 and the English still think they are good at football. Allan.

I brought this up a while back Luke. It's up to the members to select the correct country really though. I had UK until I saw that England was available.

I have nothing against the Scots, the Welsh or the Northern Irish. UK just shouldn't be an option. Delete the UK and then people that selected UK will be without a flag until they re-pick their 'country' of origin.

I'd never choose to call myself English (won't go into why as I will probably offend someone ) I appreciate this isn't how it's done in real golf, but this isn't real golf, so no harm giving people the option. And, as Smiling Goats pointed out, does it really matter?

Fair enough but I thought the whole point of the tour was to simulate real golf? Ah well.

I get what your saying, you never a UK flag next to a players name, thats because the unions are separate. Wales has its own golf union which may explain why they produce so little professionals, they don't have the funding England has.

I wondered this also. I am English, have no problem with the Scots, Irish or Welsh but would prefer an English badge if thats possible. It's no biggie as i know that there are far more important tasks but seeing as i saw the thread i thought i would comment.

What the original post was asking for was for us to remove the UK option.
