I am interested to know what wind you guys had for the first round. I have just completed it (3 odd hours ago) and the wind was upwards of 15 mph and no less than 8 mph. Any feed back on this would be appreciated. Kind regards, oz I played all my rounds consecutively on Saturday, before I found out I got an exemption for this weeks Web tourney. My first two rounds were relatively low winds (5-8mph), the last two were much higher (9-16mph).

Sometimes the wind changes drastically mid round - maybe to simulate typical British weather!

My first two rounds were relatively low winds (5-8mph), the last two were much higher (9-16mph). Likewise Saturday, except i played evening GMT. Sometimes the wind changes drastically mid round - maybe to simulate typical British weather! Honestly, I wish the winds would be a little calmer overall, but have more 3-5mph gusts. This would be more realistic, and actually keep players on their toes a little more. With a bit of practice, you can almost always shoot at the pins, even in steady 15mph winds (as long as it's not a headwind from 200yds out). If there were more gusts during the round, it would force players to play safer shots, making sure they hit the green. For example, say you have a steady 12mph tailwind with a pin that's 5 paces from the back of the green. With the steady wind, that's still a fairly easy shot to get close to the pin. Next, say you have the same back pin location, with only an 8mph tailwind. That would be an even easier shot... just take off 8 yards to compensate and you're next to the pin. However, throw in a 2-4mph gust while the ball is in the air, and you'd fly the green. This would force players to err on the side of caution, which would make for more realistic scoring imo.

I haven't played real golf for 10+ years now but I don't recall having an exact wind speed out on the course! Perhaps this game shouldn't give you an exact wind speed, but more a rough gauge inc direction. That way you've got a 3-5 mph guess say on what the wind speed could be. Also +1 on gusts, especially when the wind gets over say 10mph

WOW, played my first two rounds and well, posted 2 of my 3 worst scores since joining the tour, high wind speeds are brutal and sloping greens that at least I did not navigate very well I had improved my ranking each week, however, this will probably change all that

I am interested to know what wind you guys had for the first round. I just marathoned all 4 rounds and was anywhere from 10-16 almost every hole. A few must be guarded because it dropped to 8 or so occasionally. Second tourney in a row that has me convinced that I'll be Z'ing it up, soon. I must echo the first class comment above.

Well I played my first 2 rounds. 14 mph crosswinds on every hole destroyed me in the first round! I had the worst round I have ever had.
Second round the winds had died down to about 8-9 mph and I shot the second lowest score ever! I had an opportunity to go in at -4 but bogeyed the last 2 holes.

Guys/Gals,
Just completed my 2nd round and winds were upward of 18 mph.
I managed to get to 4 under but then my putting really let me down and I finished on par.
Not once did the wind swing in my favour, especially on the par 5's. My tee shots were always into a headwind of 14 - 18 mph.
Good luck and kind regards to all,
oz

G'day guys/gals
I completed my final two rounds with a 70 and a 72 so overall +3.
Again the winds did not help one bit, it is though you tee up on a par 3 with a tail wind of 18 mph and the 2 holes later you would assume with the outlay of the golf course you may have a tailwind on your long par 5, only to be met with a headwind of 22 mph!
Had trouble keeping the ball on the fairways, but biggest problems were the putts. So many just slid past the hole for about another 12 feet or so and then to be left with a 6 inch incline.
Some of the levels on the fairways led to a shot into the rough, despite it looking a fairly easy tee shot.
Anyway, their is next week's tours so all the best and kind regards to all,
oz

I could not figure this course out for the life of me. It drove me nuts. posted a 79-79-72-73. I find it insane (as an actual average joe golfer) that these tournament have unreal final scores. I would assume as a simulation, this game would result and only surrender more similar to score as the PGA and other semi pro tours. Don't think ive ever seen anyone in real life win a tournament -32.

Congratulations to the top 3. Craig, Michael and Graham.
And everyone else that entered this tour whether you enjoyed, endured or exhausted with it, is great to see you all out there.
So good luck to all that will remain here on CC - E and again congrats to those that will get their card to move forward.
Kind regards to all, and remember, it's just a game,
oz
