Forgive me if my memory is faulty, but i remember one tournament on the PGA tour that used to have this scoring format. It was played in Colorado at the time.
Now that the new patch allows this format, are there going to be any tournaments that TGC Tours makes that will have this scoring system?

Am I right in saying unless you do modified Stapleford the standard pts scoring is exactly the same as stroke play just displayed differently and eradicating any 3 over pars?

Yeah the point system used in the game is pretty bad considering how well most players shoot. They use the standard Stableford, but what they need to use, or at least have an option for, is the modified Stableford.
Modified is also more fun because it encourages aggressive play with the birdie being 2 and bogey being only -1, plus the eagle should be 5.
HB should absolutely change the points.

That is The Barracuda Championship here in Reno at Montreux GC. It is a Modified Stableford event but presently, The Golf Club will not allow us to set Stableford as an event scoring choice. I brought this up a couple of months ago with the studio and they said they would add it but I don't think it is high in the priority list unfortunately

In the patch notes for the upcoming July update it says... ..., whatever that finally means.

There is no reason why Tim couldn't convert the api retrieved hole by hole scores to a modified stableford score with the appropriate code if he so desired.
