Finally got this finished - almost in time for the Masters! Lookout River is a countryside course with a healthy amount of rugged terrain, elevation changes and some long views around the plot. The playing surfaces, surrounded by natural areas, should play fast & firm. Some approaches might require utilizing slopes to feed the ball to the flag. Suggested setups:Pin | Tees | Wind direction | Wind strength | 1 | White | North | Medium (/High) | 2 | White | Southeast | High (/Medium) | 3 | Gold | Northwest | High (/Very high) | 4 | White | South | High (/Medium) |
If you play just one round, would recommend picking either 1,2 or 4 for setup. The gold tees are a manipulated set, playing 7,337 yards while the whites are the main set at 7,452 yards. I tried to put a bit of effort in the default weather look, nothing too special came out of it but I would still recommend using it. Default green speed is 146, which i feel works best, but the course can be played with either moderate or fast if necessary to adjust for difficulty. Hopefully you'll be inspired to give it a go - please let me know what you think! Any feedback would be very much appreciated, as would any tips on what should I put most focus on next to improve. Also submitted this for TGC database review. Some pictures below: Par-4 2nd from behind the green: Par-3 5th from behind the green, tee box is at the upper left corner of the picture: Second shot view on the Par-5 6th: The 8th green - the approaches are hit from the right of this picture. The 6th looms in the background. The uphill par-5 9th returns to the clubhouse. While this might be the easiest par-5 to reach, the green site has its dangers.

This is really good. I think you nailed the framing on this course. Loved the back to back par 3s as well. Just solid the whole way through

I remember playing the beta for this one, and I noticed the changes you made to the final course due to feedback.
I think you've done a great job, and this is a lot of fun to play. The beta was solid, but this is more refined and plays very well.
Well done!

Haha, I had no idea! The emails said simply 'approved' and that's how I took it. I managed to find the info on the designer profile now, and was surprised to see that my first one was apparently TW too.

Many thanks for the feedback, that's honestly really valuable and much appreciated. Also the first time I've seen someone play something I've built - just incredibly helpful to see the course through a different lens. And well spotted, Cypress Point was exactly what I used as some kind justification for the unconventional routing choice on the back nine. I created the plot first and tried to find the holes that would fit in there, and back-to-back 3s was the only way I could think of to make to make the routing work.
