I recently purchased a copy of the Alistair Mackenzie Reader and came across a very intersting map of Cypress Point on... alistermackenzie.org/articles/cypresspointWould appear there were plans to have the 18th tee on the rocks. Would have made the last (and least appealing hole ??) at Cypress longer, more demanding and certainly more thrilling !! Website is emerging as a good one !!

I love that routing drawing. It's also is pre-changes to #6, #7, #12, and #13 in the routing, and interesting that #2 has a lower fairway as well so it isn't all carry off the tee.

Love those old pictures of 'rugged' Cypress Point, too.

The "rocks tee" would be 50yds back but the yardage shows 350 which is the same today. Green must be in different location. Love the penmanship of the words Pacific Ocean.
