The concept of someone developing a plot with restrictions and then handing it over to another designer has always intrigue me, just feels more natural and real. I agree completely. It's as close as it gets to being a Doak type in the living flesh within the digital constrictions the game obviously has. "Hey, we got some land and want a golf course... can you come show us where to put our holes please." I use PS4 but I need some good plots to mess around with. I suck at making plots. But I love architecture. But I suck at sculpting. Is there plots to share on PS4? I'm two rounds in and course is pretty dees. You found a great routing on a fairly minimal plot (nice work Tanner). Even with the Petty style sucky planting (intentional probably) and only 10 trees etc., the course still has a sense of space and takes the golfer through different environments and tells a cohesive story. Some fun shot values and a few holes have my number so far. Loved the complex of 4 or 5 greens and tee boxes etc., at the lower point of the plot. The bunkers and elevation changes are the visuals of Greenmont I feel and I like this new Ross style bunkering techniques you guys are doing. They are beautiful to look at but ugly to play from, you want to stay out of those things. Joe still might be the best at the flat bottom style but there has been some nice stuff lately. PS I cut fairways awhile back and you would drive a mower right into that creek. Creek isn't very believable IMO. I don't think grass would be that pristine right next to water. Reminded me of Maxwell which is the worst creek in the long history and practice of creek making. All jokes aside, designer needs a better surfacing texture around creeks or show me a picture of a real life creek that inspired this debauchery of all things creek making. Cause I don't some something seems off with it. Kudos gents.

Finally.
Ben has entered the "@!$# planting" phase of his course design career. We've all been there. He may enjoy a small renaissance, but his days are numbered.

Not an attack at you Brian, nothing technically wrong with the creek more of an opinion. I'll get back at you later with proper explanation, need to do real life things for awhile.

Lol, chatgptgolfklubber2.0 you don't have to explain yourself, I'm perfectly happy with Maxwell. I was just coming to do my usual drive-by in Ben's thread and was surprised I was already catching strays, that's all.

Lol, chatgptgolfklubber2.0 you don't have to explain yourself, I'm perfectly happy with Maxwell. I was just coming to do my usual drive-by in Ben's thread and was surprised I was already catching strays, that's all. I have a voodoo doll and I'm out to get you. Those random scratches you experience throughout your day are just me figuring out how to use my power. I started this ever since I started played your courses four years ago. And I have amassed a mob of loyal followers, (Mc******nal is joining I assume, but I have not asked him). This is all due to your tomfoolery's over the years and your reputation proceeds you so you should start suspecting more. Great, I'm also perfectly happy with Maxwell. I love when I land on the left side of the green on number 4 and watch my ball roll into the water. It brings me great joy and I am not being sarcastic at all. Its one of my favorite par 3s in recent memory. But....how do you cut the 45 degree slope? Which at times becomes steeper? If anyone has ever run a lawnmower, pushed or pulled a golf pull cart, or played with a children's toy on a hill...there is an inevitable breaking point where the object will flip. You can come at it from a different approach via the top of the hill but once again, there is a point where your feet will slip or your brakes won't work and the green kid on the crew who gets the crap jobs radios the super and says he dumped a mower in the creek. So in a turf maintenance sense which I have witnessed this tragic event happening, it behooves you to let that area overgrow and trim it once in a while with something smaller. Or don't make it so steep. If you run a fairway mower daily over that low lying grass you will damage it because it is unstable ground. Most of the areas on both courses are fine sure but at times it makes we think there could be a better way. In the game, it translates to continual same texture directly into water edge, which I think wouldn't be consistent, because you would have to use different movers to cut the grass on the bank, or the bank would deteriorate over time and look beat up. The way panda had a texture to bring the exposed sandy goodness to life at Pinehurst, needs to apply to a new water edge texture. For now, I like the water edges to be hidden and planted because from the distance it renders better, is more realistic maintenance wise and hides to me at least, a jarring looking transition. Personal taste thing and I am trying to think of an example of a good creek that doesn't look cartoony.. But take it from an unqualified critic who doesn't even know what he himself is talking about sometimes and chew on that if you may. Creek sucks and you suck too. Ya your initials would be B.S.

You being the guy with the top 100 list, where in your top 5 would you put it? Haha as you should be. Top 100? That is a great question. Depends how you define any list. If it is alphabetically ranked, somewhere between Lower Fishing Lake and Moore Country lol. So middle of the pack. If you are trying to do the difficult task of comparing a Sandbelt to a Heathland to a Coastal Links to a Parkland then Ill leave that to the more qualified and better judges of course design than myself and it made semis in this years world cup did it not? So, top 5 in 23 World Cup sure, top 5 in the last few years, probably not. I'd have to play petro's Muirhead Plantation again to see if it is even the better plantation course of the two haha. If you are asking the kid who has to cut the bank on #4, it's his least favorite course ever. But, like I said before, let's open it up to the masses and find out. I know it's in my favorites, I consider it a classic and I come back to it for a round every couple weeks. But you should design for yourself Brian and take pride in your process and the result, whatever that may be. After you hit publish it is out of your control and what difference does it make what people think about it. I just like to find things to criticize because you guys are getting way too good at designing and it is getting harder to find things to nitpick. And I think you guys want feedback so...

I hadn’t had the urge to throw a controller in a while. Thanks for re-kindling that feeling!
