Is there a good guide on how to elevate the terrain surrounding a Lidar plot. The trick is how not to interfere with the edges of the lidar produced terrain. Any ideas please would be appreciated. An easier way is just click “remove cliffs / add background terrain” in the tool, automatically sculpts it at the edge of your mask using the last LiDAR data height. Much easier

Much easier Paddy, I cannot find the tool where you just click “remove cliffs / add background terrain” in the tool. Can you explain in more detail please where that tool lies?

In chads tool / TGC Tools after you import the LiDAR data, during the next phase where you import golf features / OSM, where there’s a load of tick boxes, one of them in a column says “remove cliffs / add background terrain. You want to tick that box

You can also use the red sculpting brush to change the areas that are non LiDAR. The red brushes don’t affect any of the terrain that has been created using the data.
It ends up looking like when you use retaining walls if you go too high. But it is a great way to sculpt the surrounding areas to blend them better.
After that you can go back to blue brushes to move the LiDAR ground.

I notice the DEFRA site [UK] used to d/l LAZ files has changed. Since then I cannot get the mask to work as it should. The mask when opened in paint/paint.net is miniscule and is useless. Any clues as to overcome the problem?

This is what the red terrain brushes are for. They will move the earth outside the LiDAR plot only.
