I'm looking for someone good at coding or whatever to write a script that can expand the 2k23 meters to old levels. I believe it is almost twice as much in 2k21 as 2k23 (yea the editor is way better right) haha. Will pay out $500 to paypal or your choice of medium if someone can accomplish this, could probably be done with cheat engine but the game scans your computer when it launches (2k23 spyware).
Raised to $500

Yep no idea what went wrong especially with lidar designs from 2k21 to 2k23,maybe it was on purpose to stop the designs who knows.example below same course file, one straight from tgc2109 into 2k23,the other from 2k21-2k23 in other words if your on pc and have a decent tgc2019 version use that one (maybe time consuming really) TGC2019-2k23 2k21-2k23 Saying that i think it depends on the course had a couple of courses which were smaller in size.I think we all need it to go back to 2k21 levels hope you sort your problem out.

It wasn't just LiDAR courses that were ported over, either. I design on PS4 (LiDAR courses aren't possible on there) and had one course that was over 100% on the object meter when I tried to port it over from 2K21 to 2K23. I am pretty sure it's due to the fact that trees and other assets were updated in 2K23 to offer a bit more detail, and this made the objects take up more space.

Many Thanks the couple i did on console had no problems really (wasn't a lot of trees on them).so it seems its a problem all over 2k23 i have noticed those UK asset pack houses use a lot more than the old ones. Just a shame it seems like its a bit of guesswork what causes it then because it does seem to effect some courses more than others.Just a shame really because the EA game does look nice and really as a designer gone backwards to make RCR's look as good in 2k23 as 2k21.

My understanding is that the overall meters actually increased a bit for this game. However, as the individual assets themselves generally have higher costs, you don't always see that. Certain items (e.g. winter trees) are particularly high cost. As a result, some files have gone way over the limit, but some are lower than in the previous game.
Either way, no way to change that; just be more efficient with planting.

I was a ski bum for a good while now I'm back lol. It has been uploaded and listed on this site as of yesterday! Have a renovated sharp park (mackenzie) and another course I hope to both get permission from the architects to publish to the game.
Good to see you still around!

I'm not going to remove such a large chunk of vegetation. Would rather just allow people to download the course file as is so they can play it in editor. (It runs absolutely fine)
I'm not buying that each object is 2x as expensive.

Nope, odds are that something to that extent is due to it being lidar. Not that clued up on that, but it's far more costly in this game to bring in a lidar plot. Given the copyright issues surrounding lidar imports via a 3rd party tool, don't think they'll be prioritising sorting that.

And with intellectual property of the club/architect putting holes on it... There's also a clear Terms of Service you sign when opening the designer to say you won't infringe on copyright by recreating real courses. Thankfully, they turn a blind eye to most of it, but it's certainly not something they'll facilitate, hence why I doubt they'll put much time into sorting the lidar memory issue.

This isnt a lidar memory issue, this is an issue that they want to spend less money on server costs so the reduced the amount of objects that can be planted. You can easily run out of object memory on a non lidar plot.
All of the work I do now is explicitly approved by the copyright holder.

That's not the point - I'm trying to explain why the issue likely won't be prioritised. There's a bug related to lidar imports through 3rd party software that allows people to get around copyright. They aren't going to be desperate to sort that, frustrating though it may be.
