When placing wildlife I have an issue with ducks and swans. Having selected the object, the image siluette appears where my curser is but I cannot get to higher/lower the object to water level. When I place it on the course at the "default" height when selected, the ducks/swans do not appear on the course. Is there a bug with these objects or am I missing a trick?

Ducks and swans only work on the natural water plain. If you have elevated land with artificial water levels they will be below the surface and will not show up.

Thanks retteach. That is something else for my knowledge base. So much to learn. You would have thought a good help database would have been incorporated into the sim. I suppose that was too complicated.

One trick i’ve used when prepping the plot is to include a small valley area at “sea level” to be able to place ducks on a pond or lake. A hole or two might play through it or it might be scenery for a couple other holes passing by at a level a bit higher.
On such a course, generally, you might not want to raise your primary terrain height too high to avoid huge changes in elevation.
Except sometimes. Like every other “rule” in golf course design. 😂

I think the lily pads work the same way.
Also I'm finding crowds won't always show up on the cart paths I put down. Anyone know why?
