So being a massive stat nerd I was looking at the averages of the PGA Tour guys in real life and seeing how the top guy (Jordan Spieth 69.4) correlates with the rest of the tour. The average of the tour is 71.5 so roughly 2 shots more. The bottom guy in 200th is Mike Weir at 75.3, but he's way off everyone as the 199th guy is Immelman at 73.3. So roughly 4 shots seperate the top guy with the bottom guys, 2 shots being the average guys.
I then went on TGC Tours to see if this was similar...
I filtered it to 10 or more events played so we got a better rounded average. Top guy...
David Williams 61.0
Bottom Guy
Rob N. Everett 68.0
So a whopping 7 shots differential. Poor guy must feel out of his league. I couldn't be arsed to work out the average but on quick viewing it seems to look around the 64.0 mark tops. This means 3 shots which I feel is very good and very near to the real life's 2. Quite a good correlation don't you think?
