I wish there was a way in the terrain settings to set what the designer auto plants. If you could select certain trees plants grass etc. As an example if it only wanted it to auto plant cypress trees. As it stands we tell it to plant nothing and do the whole plot ourselves.
On a side note I don't believe there is a theme that auto plants cypress trees or has them in the theme. Kind of odd.

If you wanted a Palm Tree, for example, you needed to use the Tropical or Desert theme. For 2K21, HB broke that up, and allowed for us to use trees and plants from any theme (and thus, the memory meter was born). At the same time, Cypress trees, among others, were introduced outside of any themes.

I, too, would love to select say 15-20 trees for it to autoplant with.
Barring that, or even in addition, the ability to create a splined area & fill it with the theme's default mix.

I think there should be a "Custom Theme" where the designer has to choose the default plantings and backdrops. Plus, there should also be greater choice for default plot rough texture, which should be independent/different to the heavy rough on the golf course itself. Also be able to choose in initial setup as totally flat plot.
Interestingly, if you use the new "Remove Default Heavy Rough Brush" tool on some themes, the underlying textures can be used to good effect (e.g. Boreal Theme).
Let's hope 2K takes heed.

I, unfortunately cannot use that brush without it kicking me out of the designer and to my desktop. I should start a new course and see if it is across all themes or just in Delta.
As far as the topic, is there a way to rotate the pattern of multi-planting or are you stuck with the orientation provided?

I used it on a delta theme and did not kick me out. ive not had an issue with that brush not working. i am curious what the opacity 100% is tied to and if it can be adjusted.

I’d just like the base layer to be all long grass / fescue and then we use heavy rough painting / splining or bare texture brush to remove what we need. Would be so much better that way, I’d knock out courses twice as fast if that was the case.
You could also link that fescue layer to change colour depending on the heavy rough texture you use.
Since they made the heavy rough as visable grass blades in the last two games, it wouldn’t be hard to just make those blades a foot or so long as a base layer

i am curious what the opacity 100% is tied to and if it can be adjusted. Opacity percentage determines the effect of the brush on the bare terrain. 10% Opacity is like you buried one tree. 100% Opacity is like you buried 10 trees.
