Good to see 2K23 Update 1.06 introduce some new designer features. I have discovered two, but there may be more.
Textures At last it was nice to see a step in the right direction for texture management to be able to control the default generated "Heavy Rough" on the main plot. On PS4 under "Sculpt Terrain" menu item the new last feature "Clear Generated Heavy Rough Brush Tool" is very useful. You can now select any of the 5 pages of brush templates and then increase or decrease the opacity level of removal (clearing) to create some nice natural effects to see the default soil texture under the rough. Ideal for making worn paths to the next hole, mottled areas under scrub, mottled borders along roadside, etc. Next step for 2K23 - introduce sets of textures for main plot and near or under water bodies. Textures that are 2D should allow control of blending opacity and size at brush edges.
Christmas Objects There is also now a number of new snow covered planting objects and a "Seasonal" object menu with 3 pages of Christmas objects to adorn your Christmas Course. The new bright red brick texture that has been applied to the famous "Hogan Bridge" that normally crosses Rae's Creek would make a great "Santa's Bridge"... Ho Ho Ho.
Next step for 2K23 - share some of the course objects used on Official Courses - minus the advertising if legally/commercially required.
Merry Christmas to All...

Warning to PC users: The "Clear Generated Heavy Rough Brush Tool" is buggy. I have tried to use it half a dozen times and it kicks me out of the program.

I read elsewhere that bunker brushes now drop the sand like twice as deep as it used to, making sculpting them more of a chore.

Why do the keep fiddling with parts of the designer that no one has even complained or reported issues about, this is ridiculous. Now sculpting is horrible on bunkers and when one wants to add a waste area, now we can't even do that because it drops the bunker too f*****g into the land. Geez

I used this link above to report it and I think everybody should also put in a request 100% agree. Bunker sculpting before a couple days ago was pretty good. I reported this on the link you provided: Before the latest update your bunker sculpting was great. The sand in the bunker would do exactly what you told it to do with the landscape raise or flatten brushes. Since the update it's changed substantially for the worse. Why make changes which are clearly and obviously worse? It's much much harder to create bunkers now. Can you please revert this recent change back to how it was before the recent update? Boggles my mind that someone would allow this change to be pushed through to your customers.

****update**** Worse than expected, sculpting bunkers damn near impossible now! Before we could use the round bunker brush to "auto" flatten the bunkers, know if you use that technique it will make the bunker 3 times the depth and if you run your fuzzy flatten over it, it makes a crater out of it!!

It’s annoying, short term fix will have to involve setting the flatten brush to maybe 2-3ft up and find that flat sweet spot until they fix it
