Solid improvement there in that R3, carstenkylling. I'm hooked on the improvement aspect myself. It's rewarding to see the improvement in real time. Just played my first round for the week and ended up -4. Putting was solid throughout and I felt like anytime I was within range I was good to go -- these greens didn't feel too difficult so it's mostly about good execution. Missed a few opportunities to snag a birdie or eagle here and there and I wasted a stroke on a par-5 on the back nine when I forgot to account for the low trajectory of shots off a 3 wood and plunked my third straight off a mini-hill in front of me. But I also only had a single bogey, and bagged an eagle, so not much to complain about. I feel like a -6 or -7 was definitely possible here without changing much about how I played so all in all it was a good start.

Haven't really played before and not with these settings. The putting I'm not really good at yet, often I seem to overpower my shots a bit too much :i Went +6 on R1 and R2 today, improving a lot from last week.

This is my fourth event and I only started playing on these settings for the qualifier the week prior -- got through on my first try but I think I benefited from a large field because my scores weren't very good at all! I've definitely improved a lot in a short time but not quite enough to climb into CC-K yet. Nice to have something concrete to work towards. Not sure how you're set up but I found that changing the fittings on my putter to balance more toward putt weight helped me become more consistent with my putting.

Haven't really put any fittings on anything because I want to go all purple on everything and not spend VC unnecessarily. It all adds up.

Played rounds 3 and 4 today -- after a 68 and a 74 in the first two, I posted a 68 and a 73 for -5 overall.
I felt like the conditions in the third were well-suited to me -- finished with five birdies and a single bogey, and about three of those pars were short putts after missing the birdie chance by a matter of inches. If I could just leave it closer to the hole that would be easier! Started the final round off terribly with a double bogey and then a bogey, but I sank a 50-foot eagle putt on the 9th to end the front nine just +1. Sank another 45-footer for birdie on the 14th to finish the back even.
If I get lucky and a few players ahead of me shoot worse in the fourth, I could grab my second top 25 finish, but I'm not counting on that. That means the next mission is to improve again next week. If I can do that a couple weeks in a row I should be able to grab some promotion marks.

Fairly brutal two rounds for me this week. Actually thought I played decently but the score didn’t reflect that. Biggest problem was I couldn’t seem to avoid fast downhill putts. Lost count of the number of 15-20 ft. putts with a foot plus of drop I had. The kind of putt where you tap it as lightly as possible and it’ll either go in the hole or keep rolling until you have to come 20 ft. back uphill. Certainly one of those weeks where I wish my approach shots could be more specifically aimed than “aim for the middle of the green and hope I end up putting from somewhere”.
+7 and +5 shouldn’t be in any danger of making the cut.

I had one of my worst rounds of the year in Rd 1 and shot a +13. I looked to see where that placed me on the leaderboard, only to find out that I was not on the leaderboard, as I lost my tour card after the last tournament. Anyway, I played much better in the next 3 rounds and shot +2, +2 and + 4 for a total score of +21 in the qualifying tournament. It's looking like that should be good enough to get my card back and hopefully end up back in L soon.

It only took me the minimum three weeks to get demoted back to Q-school my first time here. Got promoted back after one week and have now been hanging around in CC-L for a couple months straight. So a demotion doesn’t have to be bad and can probably help motivate you or something to improve so it doesn’t happen again. You’re playing the same course either way so there isn’t really much difference between CC-L and Q-school except that in Q-school you know all four rounds are relevant.

I managed to get my card back at the first attempt despite that terrible first round. I shot + 4 in Rd 1 at Hartley Park. It's good to have a few people to chat with about my rounds. Good luck this week everyone.

Fairly easy course this week. Not really many chances to put up a big score on any hole. A bogey sprinkled in here and there but that’s about as bad as it should get.
Saying that I double bogeyed hole 18 in round 1 to finish +1. Looking like that’ll be around middle of the pack. My -2 in round 2 actually has me feeling confident about making the cut for a change, possibly even comfortably making the cut which is super rare.

I managed to miss the cut last week -- by a single stroke that's entirely accounted for by having hit the water on my tournament opening tee shot. That's the first time since qualifying for CC-L. Had to happen sooner or later I guess! Didn't really play much after that for the rest of the week, but starting on the weekend gave Hartley Park CC a few practice runs. Like boffo said it's a pretty forgiving course -- nice big fairways, shallow bunkers, light rough all over with 90% lies or better. Practice paid off because I got my timing down better than it has been in weeks and I shot -7 for the first round. Eight birdies and a bogey, including -4 through the first four holes. That's good for second place at the moment and if nothing else gives me a nice base to build on for the rest of the week. Feels good to bounce back strong after an off week.

After shooting a +4 in Rd 1, I needed an under par round in Rd 2 to give myself a chance at making the cut. I got off to a good start and made an eagle at the 4th and I made an 80 ft putt on 14th for an unlikely birdie. There were a lot of good par saves as well and this gave me a score of - 3. So +1 after 36 holes and in with a good chance of making the cut in my first tournament back.

@zodiac Black 80 feet??? Well done sir! +1 ought to be good enough to make it through for sure.
I managed to birdie 4 through 7 and then had one birdie and one bogey on the back nine to get myself to -11 after the first two rounds. Good for fifth place overall right now as there have been a couple really incredible ones posted this week (a 58 and a 59 that I've seen so far).

Up until a moment ago I was impressed with the 47 ft. putt I sank for a birdie in round 2. By the new standards it barely even qualifies as a medium length putt, let alone a long one.
Round 3 felt like the worst round I’ve played all week. Nothing resembling consistency and I was up and down multiple times before finally settling on 5 birdies and 5 bogeys for an even par round. Not my worst score, but definitely my worst played through three rounds.

Just finished round 4 knowing I had a chance to finish an event under par. Normally by this point I’m just happy to have made the cut and don’t care much. I don’t like to jinx myself by setting goals but in the back of my head the idea of posting a negative score is sitting there.
I don’t think there was any doubt that this was my best played round of the week and the season. 8 birdies and a single bogey to post a -7 for the round and -8 for the tournament. I already know this’ll be my highest finish of the season but wonder just how high it might get me.
