Week 11 brings us to Falling Rock C.C. by tomatograss. This course will test your skills around handling constant elevation changes and difficult greens at times. Another fun aspect is that the designer used the tee manipulation trick, so all 4 tee sets are very similar in distance, but give different angles and shots as the 4 rounds progress. Should be a fun week, be sure to go give the completed course thread a look and check out the designer's wip page for his next course. I believe Falling Rock was only his second publish, so it will be fun to follow along as he continues to grow in the community and in the designer. From the designer: Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains lies a newly constructed golf community, Falling Rock Country Club. It features a championship golf course that plays 7300 yards from the tips. Perched atop Mt. Gabriel in Tennessee, this track highlights the many ledges and mountainside views, which can challenge even the most skilled golfers. One shot astray can send your ball over the cliffs!

So it appears everyone’s score in the tournament is two strokes lower than what they actually shot. I think this is because the original FRCC was a par 72, and when I sent that in for DB approval, that’s what I used. I made the Tour version a par 70, and the DB entry was updated to the Tour version after it was approved, but the par remained 72 instead of 70. Shouldn’t be hard to fix!
It’s been cool seeing everyone play it so far. Good luck to everyone the rest of the week!

Started off with a 59 in the first round, but struggled a bit in the second for a 64. I'm not sure that -17 will be enough to make the cut. Interesting and challenging course I thought, got a bit annoyed with a few bogeys in the second round though 😜 Even if I miss the cut I'll probably play all four rounds anyway

Liking this course so far. After making the cut last week on the number, shooting a good R3 but failing miserably on R4, it was nice to start out this week with a 57. Haven't played R2 yet though and I know that even sitting in 10th as I currently am, I'm going to need another strong round in R2 to make certain I see the weekend again this time around. Still, nice to be playing fairly well!

Some very middling finish at -37, but I did make the cut at least!

Missed the cut by a shot again, well so far it's a shot. Might end up being 2. Oh well, try again next week

OMG, I exploded, imploded all varieties of ploded in R3. Got bamboozled by a couple of ghost breaks early in the round, had distractions at home and tried to play through it. Didn't end well, shooting even on the back 3 bogies and a double. There went any chance of a top 10 or 15 finish. I did rebound well in R4 with a 55 while hitting every fairway and only missing the first green by less than a yard long. Currently sitting T-28, which will go down some, but I feel like had I played halfway decently in R3, I might be top 10. Pretty good play that gives me some encouragement going forward. Might miss next week though, as headed to Paso Robles with my wife tomorrow for her company Christmas party on Monday. Won't be back until late Tuesday, so we'll have to see if I can get in the first two rounds that night.
