After playing and enjoying many, many of the courses both real and fictional created here and watching the threads over a year; I decided to plunge in.
Tasman Shores is my first foray into design. Modeled after the shoreline forests along the Tasman Sea there are open, more windswept areas and holes taking one through the dense forests. I decided to let the natural contour give what it could in planning the layout so holes naturally fall to or climb away from the sea.
Although, after learning that the wind settings are not saved / replicated, i still designed certain elements with wind in mind. After much play testing : a wind from the NW on high or SE / East on medium or high, give two very different feels to the golf; changing club selection from the tee and approaches as one might expect. I tried to give some holes an effective run up option (especially when with the wind), or FW areas to the side of some greens that allow for some creative shot-making.
I appreciate any thoughts or comments and thank you in advance and to those of you putting up your own work (because...I will play just one more).
sorry for the image upload failure

Ooooh, another Aussie course, brilliant! I was hoping the plot was going to be the shape of Tassy i.imgur.com/wEPBklC.jpg, alas, I was disappointed. The clubhouse looks very nicely doe and the driveway is majestic i.imgur.com/iIrmsHf.jpgShame all the tyres in the carpark have been slashed i.imgur.com/SOobzwq.jpg. This happens because the cars snap to ground level, not the carpark level. Got to be a bug. The beach looks like a lovely place for a swim then sit and relax i.imgur.com/jX9G8Z2.jpg. Just watch those paths behind for flatness. The village is a nice little touch and a lot of detail i.imgur.com/myTJitH.jpgThe fairways are super tight in places and not a lot of runoff. I managed to stay on most of them. I like the fencing and planting behind the tee boxes which is displayed nicely in the transition scenes on the tee. I found the 5th hole a little odd, which I also played very badly. The 8th hole has a first cut on the front fairway but not on the back catchment area, which looks a little distracting and I'm not sure was intentional or not. The 14th is a very tough pin to get to coming in from 207 yards out to a small green. I tried to play a little lofted cut. I think the par 3 16th is my favourite playing out towards the ocean to that tiny green. It has great framing off the tee with the surrounding waste area. Just misread my eagle putt on 18 but finished with 3 closing birdies. Congrats on getting your first course approved!

Hi Sandgroper- thanks very much for the positive vibes and feedback and taking the time to post some images and the vid.
I liked the ultra high plot view (cant do this on console) and i missed a great opportunity - your idea for geography was brilliant, next one ill shape like Norfolk Island.
It was interesting watching the course played with low wind (and from the Right) since i tested it all on higher wind settings - you crushed the middle portion and that eagle lip out was so cruel.
You were right about 8, looked at it 1000times, didnt see the discrepancy in the fringe rough -
or the problems with the miscreants in the car parks slashing tires - i went back into the editor and had a good laugh about that -
and 14, which is tough, true, though your shot held the edge of the green nicely, (in heavy wind i tried to make it so the Fairway to the left or front of the green feeds the ball in a bit.)
thanks for the other constructive and positive comments and thoughts - much appreciated - way to finish out with 3 birdies in a row, nicely done.
