Wow is this course tough. I have played it a dozen times and the first thing I have noticed is that in all those times, I don't think I have seen the wind be consistently under 8mph. It might occasionally drop to 4mph on a shot or two but then it is back up to 12mph the next shot it seems. The first round is the hardest with the Firm greens and the Hard difficulty. -4 or -5 is my best score on this course so far and I'm confuzzled as to how people have managed -12 on it.. SHEESH. I've shot -10 on some of the other days, but that first one is tough! Overall it is a tough course and I think there is going to be a lot of wind waiting (even with the shortened posting schedule). There are greens that cannot be hit in two with a 12-14mph. I can't help but feeling that it is a little gimicky, especially on the par 3s. Several of them you can only get to if you use a wood which takes distance control out of the equation unless you try a 95% shot or so, which I would love to see someone do over the water in some That being said it should be a very interesting challenge. I think there are going to be a lot of broken clubs with this course as it truly will crush you if you try to get cute. Sadly we can't play true match play which would help mitigate a double or triple bogey. One thing to note, I played it today and two separate times I was playing a shot and the club suddenly switched back to the default club I was offered in the middle of my swing. I don't think I have to tell you the result of which was heartbreaking. I'm REALLY liking the Player's Championship course. That will be a lot of fun for all i think.

I didn't even qualify for the WGC Match Play but I wanted to play this course anyways so I gave it a try. Best I managed was a -8 on the original setup, I think the best score on XB1 is -10, so I guess I did pretty well. Pretty much 7-11mph winds the whole round which really wasn't that bad. I just found the course to be rather irritating overall lol. Felt like every other fairway was a huge side-hill lie. A lot of crazy slopes on the greens, good thing my putting has been absolutely fantastic lately. Then a couple of the par 3's like you said, with some wind directions it seems like it could get extremely difficult to even keep the ball on the green. I couldn't reach any of the par 5's in 2, not even close enough to think about trying, which maybe was a good thing because it forced me to lay up instead of trying something stupid and I think I ended up birdying all of them. Even though I played it decently enough this time, I'm kind of glad I didn't qualify for this event because I could see myself getting very frustrated with this course in a tournament setting lol.

I really didn't enjoy the course and I'm glad I'm a newbie that had no chance of being in it. I would've been so mad if I had to play it multiple times. My wind was consistently around 15 mph. I hit THREE drivers into par 3's and I hit Driver-3 wood on two different par 4's and couldn't reach the green. I was 34 yards short on one of them with 100% shots. That's not okay. It's not too hard to make a challenging course without completely forgetting how wind conditions could be and making it just plain unfair. Pretty poor in my honest opinion. Good luck to the guys in the tourney and I hope you get reasonable winds.

It's tough, but fair, and proof you don't need to firm up a course to make scores more realistic.
I haven't even touched Round 2 or 3 yet (not that presumptious) but managing 6-10 under pretty consistently on the Round 1 version.
Qite confident, but of course i could shoot -10 and still lose which is all part of the fun.

Played this today in medium winds and changed up my course management style a bit. Picking the shots I wanted to really go after for a birdie and being a little more conservative on the tougher pins, especially over water. The result was that I birdied all but one of the par 5s and allowed myself several legitimate birdie putts. I made some, missed others but didn't have a single bogey or worse. Final score -9 and i'm happy with that.

So the first course we play is the one that just reads "The Challenge Club" No Setup B, C or A cause i can't find an A.
I ask cause this course USED to be Hard difficulty and Fast greens. It looks like it has been changed to Medium/Medium.
Is this the right course?

But yes, that is the course - there is no Pin A, it's just the original course The Challenge Club for round 1.

When I was playing it like 2 weeks ago it showed as Hardest difficulty and now it is medium (A welcome change)!!!! Thanks, just wanted to make sure we were practicing the right one.

That's what happens when the top 64 practice a course - even the Challenge Club is no match for our birdies!

Difficulty is not a setting and has no effect on the course or game whatsoever. It just looks at the average scoring and put a label on the course. Hence - every course that is not already labelled easy usually drops when the tour comes to town,

I did not know this.. Good to know.
I just played a practice round, couldn't reach #3 in two and barely reached the fairway on #12 with a driver. Silliness .. really.
