Thylacine Dunes is now published. Just to make it clear, this is not part of any design contest, just something Ive been working on for the past few months. This is a fictional dunes course inspired by the large dunes that dominate the remote and stunning landscape of Crescent Bay in Australia. The course details are as follows: Par: 72 Four Tees: Black: 7268, Blue: 6827, White: 6533, Red: 6081 Greenspeed: default = fast (173) The course is named after the extinct native Tiger (Thylacine) that used to roam these lands. There have been one or two unsubstantiated local sightings in recent years, so if you stray too far off-line its best to be cautious while searching for your ball. I had a lot of fun designing this one and I hope its enjoyable to play. A promo video is below. (there are some big limitations in making vids on a PS5 console, so please cut me some slack )

Approved as Tour Worthy, which Im very happy with, as its only my 2nd course. I have posted a hole routing below, for a bit of extra info, looking south and north.

Hey man, I reviewed this one for the database and honestly fell in love with it the moment I stepped on the first tee. Very well put together, a lot of fun elements to it and a multitude of ways to play each hole including using other fairways. Great effort and honestly wouldnt have thought this was someones second course. Cant wait to see what you come up with next.

As they say, "drive for show putt for dough!", not sure what that makes me after 3 putting the first for a par... Some very subtle (and not so subtle) breaks in the greens had me 2nd guessing myself, but I got it going later in the round. What a fantastic course! It is quintessentially Tassy on a plate. A big green and waste-bunkered plate, sure. The pristine, clean wilderness is beautifully captured. The way the sculpting shows off the barren landscape of the surrounding area is very well done. I've been to Port Arthur and can't believe we didn't travel the extra 5 miles to see this fantastic beach. The course itself has some wonderful elevation changes and topsy-turvy humps and bumps on the fairways that make for some thrilling spectating once the ball is away. The routing is well done so I don't know what I was thinking on 11 going for a weird line (out onto 13) thinking it was a better angle in resulting in my only bogey of the day... Came home strong and gave it 5 stars! The off course action is nicely done with a lovely range tucked away behind the course. I was warned that there wasn't much of a clubhouse because of the plant meter being maxed out, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful clubhouse overlooking the the 18th hole with a putting green out the front and a roof top bar! I wasn't quite sure how the course would be received, but glad its one you liked. Im tossing up whether or not to join the next competition that comes along, whenever that maybe.

Beautiful course mate! And bam! Eagle on #1 And then my usual lousy play took over after that Love the sand, and the vegetation, absolutely gorgeous and realistic and unique. Love all of the options, both on and off the tee, the way you've routed the fairways is fantastic. The shoreline with the rockwork, and the ocean and little islands - gorgeous. I especially like the elevated green complex on 15! The greens are moderately difficult, and if you don't pay attention to where that approach shot lands, you can kiss birdie goodbye and possibly par. Reminds me of a nice New Zealand/Australia links course. Tom Doak-ish, and he is my favorite architect. Very, very well done! I'm playing this one again!

Its a 2 hour hike on foot to get to that beach, maybe you are glad you didn't go afterall.

Finally got around to giving your course a whirl this morning mate. Been caught up in Olympics action. Really enjoyed playing it. You did a great job with the environment. The lighting, textures and planting all worked so beautifully together. Nice strategy decisions throughout the round too. The greens in particular really caught my eye with some interesting shapes that fit so well with the natural land. They were lots of fun to putt on and to play in to. Holes 1, 13, 16 and 17 were the stand outs for me. Keep designing dude. Really looking forward to seeing what's next. ✌

This was your 2nd course!? Very impressive and while I’ve only ever seen pictures of Tasmania this looks absolutely incredible! Will definitely be giving this another play and could certainly see it being used on Tour! Only small subjective critique would be the variation in green sizes with some being a bit too large for my personal preference.

Agreed about the green sizes, a few could have been smaller. The intention was to generally be on the larger size to suit a dunes style theme with some ground play, but I think you are right !
