Wanted this to have its own thread so the outcome whatever it may be doesn't get missed in other threads.
My suggestion would be belo. I think it is a fairer way to decide that basing it on stats. Alternatively we could both qualify but I don't know how that would work!
That's actually pretty unbelievable. I think they are going to have to find a way to split us to make it 64
I beg of Admin don't do it on stats (I haven't looked at who would be better on which states) let us between the 2 of us play a one off preliminary round on a course of your choice this week. We have a whole week to both play the 1 additional round and you can still set the brackets up.
That is if my tie mate is up for this also? We may even be able to play it same time and twitch it?!

What I don't understand Rob is that going into the RBC Heritage last week you were #68 and I was #69 WGR. We both finished tied for 42nd in the tournament. You moved up 4 spots to #64 and I moved DOWN 1 spot to #70. I can't wrap my head around how that could happen other than possible WGR is dropping off higher finishes in the past? Best of luck in the matchplay, I am going to try and clean house in the alt event!

If you look at how close it is between 64th to 69th there is less points in between that now than what their was between just me and you prior to the event. We both picked up the same amount of points, it's just people filled the gap between us!

Guys. There will be guys in the top 64 that can't play so just don't assume if you are outside top 64 that you're out.

Ahh, that makes sense.
Wasn't complaining, I am actually happy that I can play The Golden Gate Open although I am wondering why so many high ranked players are registered for it. Is the matchplay event optional? If so maybe I will still be invited? I suppose this will all be sorted out this week.

A lot of people register for the regular event on the off chance they will miss out. As soon as they are regisrtered for the matchplay they will be de-registered from the Regular Event

But this is not like the Masters. In real life for this event, the WGC goes to the next in line if someone doesn't wish to play to get it to an even # of teams at 64. We will do the same here.

I'll be interested to see if there are Top 64 players chickening out of the matchplay to try and get a win at The Golden Gate Open.

At the last WGC those who had qualified weren't allowed to withdraw and play the regular event. I imagine it will be the same this time.

Yea, it's not a matter of sit out this and play the other event. It's can you play this week or not. If they can play, then they have to play in WGC event. But some may be unavailable or out of town, etc. We want it to be a full event of available players. Make sense?
