Course DescriptionThe Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club is a community owned golf course that offers great benefits to its members and available tee times to public golfers. At the Fly-In, we pride ourselves in offering the best possible golf conditions each day while providing great customer service in both the Pro Shop and Restaurant facilities. Founded in 1954 by the Pilots of the Steinbach Flying Club, our course offers a rich history of Member, Provincial and Canadian tournaments/events. Designer's CommentsThe Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club is situated next to the Steinbach Flying Club in Steinbach, Manitoba, a small city of approximately 16,000 people, located 65 kilometers southeast of the capital city of Winnipeg. This is a course I have played numerous times over the past several years after a close friend built their home on the course. His house is located halfway down the 2nd fairway (it's the one with the golf cart in the backyard), and if you look and listen carefully you can see and hear him and his wife cheering you on as you tee off on #2. While not challenging in its length, water running throughout the course presents the golfer with tricky angles and tough decisions on many of the holes. One of the signature holes, #17, runs adjacent to the Flying Club's airstrip, where you can see a plane preparing for take-off on good 'ole runway #32. A handful of planes can also be seen and heard flying overhead, which is a very normal occurrence when playing the course. You can also catch a glimpse of the big windmill at the neighboring Mennonite Heritage Village, though if you're looking for a traditional Mennonite meal of fleisch perishky (meat buns) and farmer sausage after your round you'll be out of luck, as the old clubhouse restaurant was recently replaced with Santa Lucia Pizza (which by the way has awesome pizza). Enjoy the course and keep your head down if you hear a plane buzzing overhead! www.steinbachgolfclub.com/imgur.com/a/P8uAREo
