COURSES Lake Pleasant - Erie, PA J.C. Martin GC - Erie, PA Mound Grove GC - Erie, PA Gospel Hill Golf Course As someone who grew up in Erie, PA, I remember fondly four courses that shaped my childhood. I played my first round of golf at J.C. Martin. I played with my father for the first time at Gospel Hill. I hit my first (and only) hole-in-one at Lake Pleasant. And I'll never forget the snake toss at Mound Grove (it's a long story). Sadly, Gospel Hill and Lake Pleasant are permanently closed, and in 2013, I moved to Wilmington, NC for work, but I never forgot the impact these courses had on me. I am not the greatest designer, but I hope I did them justice. I used Google Earth and my memory to bring them to life again. Fantasy courses and expensive country clubs are great, but nothing beats a $9.00 with a pull-cart, public course. Enjoy!!! Number 3 at Mound Grove Number 4 at Mound Grove Number 11 at Mound Grove Number 16 at Mound Grove Number 2 at Lake Pleasant Number 5 at Lake Pleasant Number 7 at Lake Pleasant Number 7 at JC Martin Number 15 at Gospel Hill Number 18 at Gospel Hill

I'm not from there, nor have I ever played any of these, but it's great to see these type of courses being made.

Two are quick 9 hole courses (JC and Lake Pleasant). Classic farmland courses in middle class neighborhoods. I hope more people give them a chance 😎
