Hagley Park South Par 72 6332 yards - reds 6681 yards - greens 6926 yards - whites 7230 yards - blues Set in Christchurch, New Zealand, right next to the Hagley Oval cricket ground, this course helps create one lovely sporting centre of excellence in the central city. Tree lined fairways are unforgiving for errant drives, and ball placement is vital off the fairway to give the right angles into the green. Because it's also a public park, you're always close to neighbouring streets, businesses, petrol stations, sports grounds, you name it, but beware the out of bounds. I wish I could add a few photos of the course here, but alas, I'm still trying to work all this out. Hopefully I've added a Facebook link below to a bunch of the photos! Anyway, please enjoy and let me know what you think! Cheers, Ben

Played this course tonight. Nice detail work in the city and planting of the grounds. To make it look and feel natural. This was a nice parkland course that played well. A relaxing round with enough challenges to keep you on your toes. Nice work Ben!

This course in general was well done and played nicely, some great off course stuff (city and planting) that gave it a nice parkland feel. I have to say though that that 823 yard par 6 plopped in the middle of your charming local muni feels both out of place and will be a complete dealbreaker for a lot of people

I have to say though that that 823 yard par 6 plopped in the middle of your charming local muni feels both out of place and will be a complete dealbreaker for a lot of people I know the par 6 will be a bit divisive to put it kindly. I just figured it's the kind of random thing that would happen here in NZ and make a club one people wanted to come play. Sure it might put some people off, but I'm okay with it. The par 6 won't be a regular feature of my courses, that's for sure!
