I am pretty new here so not really sure how to go about this but I have read a couple posts about new releases so here is my best attempt to introduce Tongass Vale, located in Juneau, Alaska. I also published about an hour ago so it may not have loaded for everyone yet, I hope it is up and running by now!
This track is a fictional course located in the Tongass Forest. It is a course that I expect some people to go really low because of the drivable par 4's and many par 5's that can reach the green in 2. It is also plays pretty short; rewarding players that hit drives in the fairway with short approach shots. There are two tee settings and 4 pin locations that provide a good variety and make it possible to host tournaments.
I'll drop in a picture or two of each hole with a little description. I hope you enjoy Tongass and all that it has to offer!
1. Tongass Vale is a walking only venture but with the clubhouse nearly a quarter mile away from hole 1 tee; the staff provides a shuttle service out to one so you aren't huffing and puffing on your first tee shot. The first hole is a nice warm up hole. A straight par 4 with a bunker biting in to the left side of the fairway. The green is small and approach shots will need to be precise when pins are located on the right side as the green will funnel balls to the left and a bucker the hugs the right side.
2. The first par 5 of the course is a dog leg left and reachable in 2 with a little bit of helping wind off the tee. The green has multiple attacking areas and allows players to great creative if they want to run one around the left side.
3. A short par 4 the is easily reachable off the tee. Be careful. If you are fast you will likely end up in the lake. A safer route is to take the massive fairway on the right with a simple approach shot but the temptation to reach the green off the tee will likely override that thought.
4. The first par 3 has a tiered green that will allow players to either hit in the hill and roll it back or hit a high hybrid to keep it up top. Being on the wrong tier is a big penalty on this hole and will make getting par a bit of a grind.
5. A par 4 that will funnel tee shots to the right unless you take it directly over the bunker, which will be tough to do without a bit of helping wind. The approach is uphill with bunkers guarding the front and a run off area on the right. The green is smaller and shots will need to be precise. The fairway is large and aggressive players that end up in the bunker or rough will have a difficult shot to end up on the green for a birdie putt.
6. This par 5 features the largest green on the course and is reachable in 2 shots if you can avoid the massive bunker hugging the right side of the fairway and get enough juice to fly the guarding bunker on the front of the green.
7. A short par 4 that is reachable in one shot for players that choose to take the skinny alley on the right side. Luck will be a factor for aggressive players that end up in the forest guarding the middle and right of the hole, it is possible to end up in jail.
8. A par three with pearly teeth and bushes in the back. The green funnels to the middle and aces will be in play for the pin that sits in the middle of the green.
9. A par four that is split by the creek rolling down the Tongass Forest hill. The left side will be tough to land but will provide easy approach shots for three of the pin locations.
10. A par four with a turtle back green that runs right in to "Tongass Falls". If wind is in the face, players will have to decide if they want to use the right side run off area or try to hit through a tight fairway alley guarded by pine straw and bush.
11. The longest par 4 on the course also features the biggest change in elevation off the tee. Players will be hitting off the top of a hill and will have to factor in the wind a bit more to make sure they do not end up in the creek that splits the fairway. The bunker on the left does not seem like it would come in to play but a fast shot off the tee will provide many opportunities for players to work on their iron sand game.
12. This par 5 features a massive fairway that will give players different routes to reach the green. It also is also rubbing up on the base of one of the smaller mountains in Juneau. Players that want to get there in two will probably be hitting their second shot with driver and running it down the hill on the back side. Be careful, a swing that is a bit too fast will more than likely end up in the bay of the lake.
13. A par four that will provide a decision on hitting a 80 - 90% driver over the bunkers or laying up to take a long iron in to the green.
14. A very short par 4 that will require precision to stick on the correct tier of the green.
15. 3 wood is probably the play off the tee on this par 4 as driver is more likely to run off the right side an end up in the bunker. The green is slippery with slopes that will have to be well thought out before hitting the approach in.
16. A shaded par 3 tucked in to the forest. Players will have play the slopes of the green to get the ball close on each pin.
17. Players will be rewarded for hitting driver in to the fairway on this par 4 with a short pitch in to the green. The fairway is tight though and 3 wood or hybrid will only leave a short iron or wedge in.
18. The last hole is a par 5 that will make players have a decision to go for it over the water or lay up and take 3 shots to get home. A big risk reward shot that will change the leaderboard in dramatic fashion for the finale.

Well, I hope that write up works and I hope you give Tongass Vale a run and enjoy it! Please feel free to give any feedback you have on the course. This is my second created course and I took the advice from my first one (which was a disaster looking back at it) and applied it towards this course! I think it made me a much better designer.
I'd also like to thank some people for putting their material out on the web so I could learn the designer. It makes the designer fun! CrazyCanuck, b101, Mayday. Thanks
