Situated on the North Northumberland coast Turnstone takes its name from the Victorian lighthouse just off-shore, which in turn took its name from the small wader birds that frequent these shores in large numbersFollowing in the traditions of the links up and down the coast the course wends its way out of the village and down between the dunes to the sea. Coming in at just under 7400 yards this par 72 layout provides a great links test. The par threes will challenge you especially when the wind gets up and many of the greens nestle amongst the fescue-lined dunes. Make sure you conserve your energy on the shorter front nine as heading back up from the shore the back nine will bite back - with three long par 5s and only a single par 3. This is topped off by the uphill 606 yard 17th demanding a precise shot into the roadside green. The final test is the long par 4 up to the clubhouse, a hole which is probably going to be lined by some tourists enjoying the late summer sunshine. Lovely Course just the sort of course i really enjoy, must have been good i played it 3 times. Thought the 12th as a par4 when your really forced to lay up a little bit tough and was not keen on that massive bunker in front of the 17th apart from that just loved it, thought the smoke coming out the clubhouse chimney's a great little touch and i don't normally see those sort of things...played on xbox and it played great most important thing,

Play through. Wonderful environment and a strong course. Really enjoyed playing it! Designer already knows this, but I went on a bit about the bunkers in the first 6 holes or so...

I regret the forced layups on 12 and 13 but they do play differently in different wind conditions... its also possible to add topspin to bring the flight down resulting in a shorter drive ... thanks for posting - appreciate you taking the time

Thanks for the play through - and some really well observed insightful feedback ... and yes I should have gone more full on with the pots!

Would you get terribly upset if I steal the idea with the chimney smoke for my course? Looks great.
Awesome course, going to give it a whirl tomorrow!

Thanks for the feedback... but keep it up - some of my earlier attempts were a bit shoddy... but improving with each course...

Massive step up from Jakola. The fairway sculpting is just ridiculously good. Really nailed the environment too.
